Harry & Meghan Arrive for Wedding Rehearsal & A Statement from Meghan!

It's been a busy day for Meghan, which saw her release a statement confirming her father will not be attending the wedding and travelling to Windsor with Harry for the wedding rehearsal.

In light of the saddening and shocking events which have unfolded in recent days, Meghan has released a statement addressing the situation: "Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health. I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday."

It's clearly been an incredibly difficult couple of days for Meghan. Rebecca English said she felt it important to address the public directly and to clarify her father will not be attending. At this point, I think it was very much the appropriate move. The media circus we've seen has been a major distraction dominating coverage. I thought it a gracious and heartfelt statement. Without a doubt, it's been a painful time for the bride-to-be. There is no official word on who will walk Meghan down the aisle from the Palace. I will update should more information come to light.

Shortly after the statement was released Harry and Meghan surprised reporters in Windsor when they arrived to look at the procession route ahead of Saturday. Meghan was all smiles, wearing a white blouse and statement earrings.

A video from the BBC.

The atmosphere in Windsor has been electric as rehearsals took place throughout the day.

The dress rehearsal for the carriage procession.

More than 250 members of the Armed Forces will provide ceremonial support at the Royal Wedding, including regiments and units with a special relationship with Prince Harry.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were spotted arriving for the rehearsal.

Meghan's mother Doria met William, Kate, George and Charlotte at Windsor today. More from The Mirror:

'Meghan Markle's mum met with Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George and Princess Charlotte today ahead of her daughter's wedding on Saturday. They dined at Windsor Castle in Berkshire, where the much-anticipated wedding will be held.'

Rebecca English revealed Doria, Harry and Meghan joined Charles and Camilla for tea at Clarence House yesterday.

I'm told that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took her mother, Doria Ragland, for tea with Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall yesterday at Clarence House, hours after she touched down in the UK.

Doria will meet the Queen at Windsor tomorrow.

The happy couple leaving Windsor.

It very much looks like Meghan wore her Tuxe Bodywear 'Boss' bodysuit.

And Heaven identified Meghan's sparkling earrings as the $12,000 Birks Snowstorm Diamond earrings in white gold.

I'm planning a 'Day Before The Wedding' Live Blog tomorrow from early afternoon. We will be discussing all topics wedding related, I imagine there's a good chance we'll see photos of the couple arriving at Windsor with Doria and of course the much anticipated sighting of Meghan and Doria arriving at Cliveden.

  1. An appropriate and simple statement. What will help Meghan is that she is 36, and not 26. She has lived and endured the rigors of the Hollywood world, albeit on a lesser known basis. My concern is that this family may continue to cause trouble - the wedding isn’t necessarily going to end this mess. Looking forward to Saturday.

    1. Let's put this "trouble" in perspective. Thanks to the Windsor lads we have dad dancing, swastikas, Vegas, or tampons--none of which were scripted by the press. Trouble seems to be a continuous part of life. No doubt the Harry and Meghan will continue to have their share of them. If they can avoid the self-inflicted ones, let's hope they can continue to regard the rest as "noise."

    2. Unfortunately there isn’t anything she can do about them. It’s up to the media if they want to continue giving them press. All she has to do is keep living her life.

    3. Anon 12:46, for me I think this was the hardest part.... after all of this, we've seen how strong H&M are when dealing with them. The family in turn has done themselves damage even with their media meal ticket. I think H&M have the UK, Commonwealth, The States, Europe & the rest of The World Public on their side. For sure they have The Royal Family's support! Methinks, this bunch of unpleasant people who are blood relations will loose more & more oxygen as the years go by! Hopefully though, her father will become well & be able to forge his own personal relationship with H&M as a couple. I think it will all end right. :)

    4. I agree Anon, we haven't heard the last of Samantha or Tom Jr. Thankfully Good Morning Britain will no longer have Meghan's ex-sister-in-law and nephew on their show as "special correspondents", I'm sure GMB has seen the outpouring of support for Meghan and know that featuring ex-family members isn't going to go over well.

    5. Agree Philly! The royals themselves have made a bunch of embarrassing bungles over the years.

    6. Oh Philly, you have me laughing! So True! Puts so much in perspective! :) xo

    7. I'm going to buck the trend and say I hope we have heard the last. I hope that the royals have figured out it's best to pay these people off with an iron clad NDA than to have them pulling crap six ways to Sunday as they have. They've shown who they are. Honor it, and pay them off so they go away and stay there.

Example A: The Markle ex in-law and nephew being booted from GMB.

    8. Hi Philly, may I suggest you read Penny Junor's bio on Camilla is illuminating and puts shows the "trouble" with a different perspective.

  2. I love, love love how Meghan did that. It shows strength of character and class. It is amazing and beautiful to see how such a special person has risen from these trashy surroundings. It is time for Meghan to rise above, look to the future and soar like an eagle with Harry by her side. May I also say that Meghan's mum must be absolutely extraordinary. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger they say, and maybe this is the stressful event that Harry and Meghan "needed" to share to really solidify their relationship before the big day. It was a test from above, and they have passed it with flying colours. I wish them both much love and happiness for Saturday. I will be at work, but a Royal celebration is planned and there will be tiaras!

(I do wonder if anyone in their Press Office reads here, as a balance to what else is out there?) So sorry you won't be able to watch live, but have such fun at your Royal Celebration, complete with tiaras! :)

Becca, I hope you find some special treats for yourself to enjoy while watching the coverage! I was planning to invite a friend and her daughter to watch as my husband won't be at home and my sons... well... they politely accept my obsession but are far from obsessed themselves πŸ˜‰! Alas, I'm lying in bed with my nose so runny that I've already filled 3 bags with used hankies. So, a change of strategy: I won't be inviting anyone but I'll (hopefully) prepare an English-styled lunch (ham and eggs, toast and marmalade, lots of tea) plus a home-made Earl Grey cake --- so that the male part of my family can "materially" experience the benefits of being a royal follower and enjoy the celebrations as well !! 😁

My daughter has given in to her fate on Saturday - NO tv available from 11am onwards, LOL!!! She´s still trying to get some time in the evening, but they are showing a royal wedding documentary on one of the channels, so NO WAY! Poor thing, she had to listen to my ongoing rants about this "father of the bride" mess for the last 4 days!!
Anyway, I send you lots of hugs already, so that you may not feel so alone, Becca!!

Zora, I wish you a speedy recovery! Stay in bed with lots of tea and sleep - maybe on Saturday the worst will be over and you can fully enjoy the wedding!! Lucky men in your family - that lunch sounds delicious... :-)))

He and Camilla have a unique opportunity to really bond with this couple and to be very impt in their lives in a way that has not happened with William’s family because of the strong presence and perhaps preference for Kate’s family. Meghan adores her Mom, but unless she relocates she will be an absent but loving presence. I hope Meghan embraces Charles and Camilla - it would be healthy for all....

    2. I think due to proper royal press protocol release statement, Meghan chose not to be gushy and as much as she could indicated her love for her father by her choice of words. This perhaps has been mentioned somewhere, but Serena Williams father, who was in New Orleans where wedding was, cancelled walking her down aisle one hour before wedding indicating he was too nervous. Serena understood and let him know that. She walked down aisle by herself. Whatever Meghan chooses to do with the aisle situation this wedding will be so beautiful and moving.

    6. I think her hair is a hint for Saturday! I was thinking she was going to go with a pretty bun (like Pippa) with a hair piece made from Diana's jewelry collection to hold the veil, but the earrings are full on bling so maybe she will go w/ a tiara after all? The Strathmore Rose would work especially without the roses (they can be removed) which would scale it down a bit (I know, the roses give it it's name) since she's more of a minimalist.

    7. Oh SG..... I Really Really Hope So!!! Greybird, I didn't want to Jinx anything but...... I was wondering if the hairstyle was a dry run for The Big Day??? Anyone else have that crazy thought?? 16. Meghan's statement was classy, simple and to the point. Likely PR experts helped with the wording. It is said, that the Queen states, during times of controversy, discord and drama….never complain, never explain. Taking the high road is always best.

Whatever the issue might be with Mr. Markle, we will likely never know the full story. But things happen for a reason and do work out in the end. Now Meghan can move forward, not being concerned about what a family member will do next to embarrass her. Her mother, Doria seems to understand the dignity and decorum needed for this occasion. Meghan has risen above the dysfunction of her family and can now soar forward after what will be an amazing day on Saturday. If nothing else, all this latest chaos has made us admire and respect her more.

    2. If her statement had included “love” instead of “cared for” (past tense), I think it would have been more believable. For someone who praised her father on her Instagram and blog (Thanksgiving post, Father’s Day), the wording choice seems ice cold.

      Delete
    3. I actually wonder if the word choice was meant literally--as in she has always provided physical and financial care for him. I can't imagine the word love wasn't considered.

      Delete
    4. I come from a toxic family. I "loved" my parents out of duty only from a young age. I imagine the wording was by design, distancing her from her blood relations as she begins an entirely different life. Maybe Harry's Christmas comment about her never having a family like his large clan wasn't so strange. I wish Mr. Markle better health and his daughter a long, happy life.

      Delete
    5. One can love a parent even while hating to be around him or her. I think she means she has always cared what happened to him, which may be better than the obligatory love.

    6. Lee. perhaps it's all that she could muster at this point. Consider the drama and disappointment from this week alone. And, although he is not responsible for his adult children's actions, surely he could have asked them to zip it IF he was a loving and supportive father looking out for his daughter. I suspect that she is disappointed on many levels at this point. And who could blame her. I do think that it was a classy and direct statement and the wording was well thought out. One can read between the lines. I also think the statement was both powerful and poignant because she issued it on her own. People may not agree with me, but I truly believe she needs to put a proverbial period on some of these "family" connections. Stick with mom. I only hope that Doria does not do an interview with Oprah. I cannot imagine it doing Meghan any favors and it would only serve to rehash the last six months at a time when H&M need to be seen as getting on with their future.

    6. I noticed the "cared for" too. It's an odd way to put it unless you are being dignified about a relationship that has changed. If a relative of mine were accusing me of not caring and I wanted to express that yes, I care but I am not going to grovel, I would use that wording. The statement is very carefully nuance, IMO, and sends a clear message--"I know how you [family] are trying to manipulate me and I am not getting down to your level. I hope you get help."

      Delete
    7. I wanted to be done thinking about this topic but alas. Here I am. With one last thought (I hope).

I understand the confusion about the lack of “love”. But looking at the wording carefully and running it through my head a few times something occurred to me. 1st of all for all the input Meghan had in crafting this I think it’s very much in line with KP speak. Lovey dovey doesn’t come to mind when I think of their PR statements. Second, the phrase used was “cared for” not “cared about”. There’s a difference to me. Cared about would’ve come off as a very mild version, even cool, version of love. Cared for seemed to me as a shortened version of taken care of. In theory parents are always the ones that take care of their children. We all know that often the opposite happens sooner or later, particularly as parents age. I really took the wording she used as admitting she’s taken some form of responsibility for her father and/or trying to lay to rest some of recent speculation that she’s had no clue about his health problems. We’ve all heard her siblings’ assertions that TM went broke paying for Meghan’s education and that she hasn’t lifted to help him. Which is nonsense of course. I read somewhere that she herself has paid at least some of his debts though I don’t think it’s been confirmed. This was my interpretation anyways. I could’ve read too much into it. Or it could’ve just been a language difference between UK English and US English. 🀷🏻‍♀️

@Jo in Arizona - thank you for putting into words what I had just planned to say but thought it wasn´t my place as I am not a native speaker. I felt that it was saying "We might not have had that much contact during recent years, but that doesn´t mean I don´t care or that his wellbeing or health don´t matter to me".

    9. Roxana, thank you for your input. I like your way of thinking. Very well written and gives me another point of view which sounds quite plausible.

I also think that yes, Kensington Palace press releases from their royals, are basically crafted by them, but I strongly believe these are run by the royals first. I think too Meghan insisted upon this wording to reflect as best she could her feelings about her father but still within the protocol guidelines so to speak.

I also believe that she does and has given both parents support including financial when and if needed. This would be who she definitely is as a person and daughter.

      Delete
    10. But that could have been dissected as in the past but not present tense. Any statement is a potential minefield. I think this one steps carefully while acknowledging a love (as well as "care" in all that the word implies) past and present and very likely future.

    11. Katherine. I. Glad you were able to get something out of my comments :) what I keep going back to is something Meghan wrote some time back on her blog if I’m not mistaken. “My parents came from little so they made the choice to give a lot.” Not only did this shape her thinking towards philanthropy but also towards her relationship with them. Most parents make sacrifices to give their children the very best and by all signs TM and Doria are no different. They certainly helped her achieve her dreams and the Meghan we’ve come to know would never forget that and would want to give back to them once she achieved professional success. Not out of obligation but out of her love for them.

    12. Jo, I totally agree with your translation of Meghan's statement. I do believe it was diplomatic and somewhat loaded.

Thank you all for very interesting explanations of the difference between words. When I first read Meghan's message, my understanding was that in such a statement the word "love" would be too personal/strong, even though it is a personal statement, and I saw "care" simply as a synonym of "love". But I loved everyone's interpretations of the meanings. /Isn't this just fascinating about languages - all those minutiae?= a side note from a linguistics-lover πŸ˜„/

      Delete
  22. I'm glad a statement was released. It puts a stamp of closure on it, so that hopefully, everyone (including the media) can move forward and focus on the excitement of the wedding. I feel excited here in the States! I did notice that Meghan said she "cared" for her dad instead of "love," which was interesting.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I wondered if cared was used to indicate love and that she had physically, emotionally and monetarily "cared" for him. This word helps dispute the storyline that she is a user and was the recipient of lots of care from her Dad but did not ever return it. (that has been the nasty stuff some family and "friends" have put out there)

      Delete
    2. Agreed! I noticed the wording too, could it be that she meant it as she has literally "cared" for her father for years, as in provided whatever help he would accept? I keep trying to not get pulled back in, but that thought did cross my mind?

      Delete
    3. Eve from Germany17 May 2018 at 16:55

Becca, I immediately thought: This statement says a lot of things without saying much. It was graceful, for sure, but my guts tell me Meghan is not in denial of the enormous upheaval this has caused - particularly for her. This situation has put her in the worst of all places - fearing for the health of her father and surely being incredibly hurt by the way it was dealt with by him at the same time.
Thank goodness the wedding is soon - seeing Meghan and Harry today made me smile for the first time reading a post after some not so "smile-inducing" posts....

      Delete
    4. "Cared for" also has the implication of "looked after." That might mean that all of the accusations that she did not "help" her father in any way may not be entirely correct. It is the age of false news.

Sometimes loving a person means caring for them from a distance in order preserve one's own dear self. It's a position many of us may have had to take.

    5. I think the statement and the images of Meghan, Harry and the RF looking happy and relaxed for the rehearsal have put some closure to some of the circus around her father and his other children. I thought Meghan's statement was very simple and gracious and noted that the wording "cared" may have also been a message directly to her father since he seems to prefer communication with media outlets and not directly with her. In any case, Charlotte, we are all looking forward to what you have in store for us tomorrow to talk all things Royal Wedding!!

      Delete
    6. I just replied the same above regarding the use of the term "care." I think it was meant to indicate her looking after his well-being. I can't imagine the word wasn't carefully chosen.

      Delete
    7. That is true, "cared" can encompass a wide array of meanings. It's just not what I was expecting, I think.

      Delete
    8. Cared for is a very British expression of affection not American as it is being used. If you will recall in W&K engagement interview Kate spoke of "caring for her parents dearly". The use of the word in Meghans statement immediately brought back the memory of W&K interview. I thought is strange at the time but understood the British English rather then the American. The fact is we are much more demonstrative with our show of affection then the British. It is not a bad thing. I am sure Meghan is that way with Harry and he probably loves every minute of it. It can be good to learn from each other.

I think the word “cared”was chosen to maybe note that perhaps she did not financially abandon him. Also the Royals almost never say they love someone in public statements ,so it could be a UK expression.

Doubtless they had one! I'm busy imagining rehearsing those ten little children. Kate will be giving them (especially George) a firm lecture about not stepping on the train (I hope there's a train).

What a lovely thing to imagine the tea with Charles and Camilla, and following up with a tea with the Queen. If I were Ms. Doria I'd go back to the hotel and pinch myself to make sure I hadn't been dreaming.

I know she was a grown woman, not barely out of her teens like Diana was, but still, you can tell the difference being in your mid thirties (as is Meghan) does. To not get overly worked up, to not feel the need to change too much, to stay calm. I believe those insights are what has sustained Meghan and makes her glow and appear well-rested and excited, despite a difficult pair of days so close to the wedding. To remember what is most important is a good thing that comes with age. πŸ™‚

  33. What I don't get is how everyone has made such a big deal about Meghan's father not attending. This is 2018 not 1918! He didn't walk her down the aisle in her first wedding, I assumed he wasn't going to be attending this either. I hope he was initially invited because H&M wanted him there, not because KP pushed for him to be there for "optics." I feel this shows how old fashioned the media and public can be sometimes.

On a more positive note, I love Meghan's earrings! They look very special, I hope they were a gift!

    5. Hi Susan, in terms of the ability to shell out that kind of money, I think the earrings COULD be a gift from the Mulroney family. The senior Mulroneys have a second property in Florida right beside Mr. Trump’s little place, and a net worth in the upper millions. I don’t think Ben and his wife are feeling too much of a pinch either. If it WAS them, someone in the Mulroney family sure has wonderful taste - and we’ll probably never know anyway!:) My engagement and wedding rings came from Birk’s, and are still beautiful and in vogue. I loved them from the moment I set eyes on them!

    7. Let me clarify, I bring up her age because in the US if you are 35 or older you are considered to be at "advanced maternal age" and, therefore, are considered to be a "high risk" pregnancy. You can tell by just looking at her that Meghan is in-shape and she shouldn't have an issue, though. Such an exciting time!!!

    10. My understanding is that for most couples the risk concerns are due to decreased fertility after 35 and increased birth defects and increased miscarriage risks. There are some increased health risks to the Mother but if you are a healthy 40 to begin with that is not the major concern.

      Delete
    11. After 35 is considered a "Geriatric Pregnancy." It's a rather unfortunate medical term, but no way around it given her age. After 35 is always considerered high risk. Although other commenters have said she is in great shape (which she is) that often has no bearing on fertility.

I agree with those who can´t help but look at her age, here in Germany, you being 35+ is most definitely considered a "higher risk pregnancy". Many doctors even raise "fertility issues" if you are just over 30 and maybe want to wait with having babies, so there you go.
Still, considering the fact that KP has already alluded to a "very busy second half of the year", I guess we have to wait until next year for the "Big News".... ;-)))

  50. Charlotte what a wonderful blog. Thank you Charlotte for such an informative balanced narrative. I have just read through all the comments from the last few posts. Interesting the different views. When one looks back it is surprising that things didn’t spin out of control very much earlier. This is a wedding where the expectation of the public and the media was that Mr Markle would do the honours. However Mr Markle has had two short lived marriages, possibly acrimonious divorces and a very big lottery prize sometime after the second marriage. He also lived and worked in Hollywood and was nominated and won awards. Black tie events and mixing with the rich and famous would not have been a new experience. Meghan’s education payment one would expect would have been negotiated as part of her mother’s divorce settlement. And that was just the luck of her father’s situation at the time of the divorce. Life is like that. However he now lives in exile in Mexico one can only think do to ill judged actions on his part. Thank goodness the media is so focussed on other parts of this dysfunctional family that we’ve been spared the media expose on his descent. It will come in time.
The Markle family have chosen their behaviour path as has the Ragland family. I know whose path I respect. Both sides of the family had media intrusion to deal with and possibly much more intense on the Raglan side. As things have turned out it will probably be a far less tense day on Saturday. I did note that the contact between Meghan’s parents was being managed to a minimum.
I thought both official statements appropriate in an evolving difficult situation. Language varies between nations. Care as a word has different connotations in different places. Across the Atlantic words are used with great exuberance and often less depth of meaning so love might have been an appropriate choice there. Care has the correct nuances for the other side of the ocean.
My hope is for Harry and Meghan that they have a wonderful wedding day and that one or two of the children are a bit mischievous so that the media have a happier hype. One still reads articles about Zara poking out her tongue at the passing parade.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I found her statement telling which I think was very intentional. I applaud her choice of language. Doria and Thomas have been divorced for 30 years and I doubt Meghan has spent much time with him since she went off to Northwestern. I may be projecting because I am not close to my own father who I haven't seen in 19 years, but I don't think so. We talk and text and remember each other on birthdays and holidays, it's sad for my boys, but it is what it is. My dad has had two other families since his divorce from us and he has also had little contact with his second family. It's a head scratcher for many people who have "normal" families, they are always trying to find a reason or a fault (mine?) but a woman can only do so much with an indifferent parent. I have great friends, my wonderful mom, my husband's family and colleagues who are my heart and three terrific sons so I really only miss the "idea" of having my dad in our lives. Some people just leave and I imagine this is what Thomas Markle has probably done to both his families. Personally I think not having Thomas at her wedding might be a relief, one less worry on a very intense day. Meghan has given up everything for Harry, everything! If her idiot family is the worst of it then I see smooth sailing in the future for H&M who are two extraordinary people together and apart.
When I saw her bling in the photo I thought she's tough and a kick ass L.A. girl! She'll be fine.

    1. Mel in SoCal thank you for sharing your story. You may call it projection (which we sometimes do) but I see it as empathy. I can relate to Meghan as well. Not to that extreme but I understand having a dad you love and he loves you back and then be hurt and disappointed by. Even feel betrayed by certain actions. I think most people can relate. Just part of life I suppose.

While I would never wish what happened to Meghan to have happened to her, or anyone really, I think one positive thing to have come out of this is the amount of support and empathy directed towards her. Even people who aren’t Meghan fans or royal fans but have experienced messy family dynamics and parental disappointments can loom at her situation and sympathize. Only people with cold hearts or issues could take joy or satisfaction in what happened to her.

Mel, I agree with you. And please don´t blame yourself for the loss of contact to your father. It´s the father who´s the parent and has to care for the child - NOT the other way round. To look after your "offspring" is considered to be a basic human instinct - single moms (and dads for that matter!!) would not have stood much chance to survive in the Stone Age - so it´s up to the parents to establish a healthy relationship with their child.
Sadly, sometimes even basic instincts are impaired and it´s one of the hardest things to accept for a child - no matter how old it is, by the way.

I´m glad you´ve found other supportive and nourishing relationships, it makes it a little bit easier to stop feeling guilty.
Thanks so much for sharing your story! Let´s look forward to Saturday!!! :-))

    1. Indigoisle, The nerve of the school scheduling a graduation on the wedding day. LOL. What were they thinking??? Congratulations and best wishes to your son. There will be highlights of the wedding on the TV all day. So you won't miss out…it will just be a bit delayed.

  57. So with all those children what way do you think the attire will go? Very traditional or a more relaxed summer wedding style for the children. Cotton floral dresses and non silk long and short pants for the boys?

  60. If anyone is interested BBC in American is running a Four Part Series every night at 10 PM EST on the wedding and various information. Excellent. Last night was about tiaras. Tonight is part four.
You can On Demand the series for free if interested.

    1. USA Granny thanks for the tip! Unfortunately I don’t have BBC America :( gonna see if I can find them somewhere. PBS has had a series all week and I’ve enjoyed them. They’re available on the PBS video app if anyone is interested.

  62. Miss Charlotte, I have been following your blog for years (Duchess Kate) and was very excited when you started this one! Thank you for all your hard work! You deliver the information that I want in a classy, professional way and I really appreciate you! I am so excited! Saturday can't get here fast enough! I wonder if maybe those earrings are part of a set that might include a tiara? A girl can dream, yeah? I'm torn between hoping she has bought her own and hoping the Queen has dusted something off outta the stash. :) Thanks again! Lisa-USA

  63. I just have to say that I think Meghan looks especially beautiful in these pics. The next few days are going to be a whirlwind so I'm prepping my scones tonight and trying to get a little extra rest so I can be up and ready at 4 a.m. on Saturday.

  64. Regarding the wording of Meghan’s statement... I think it is carefully worded to be compassionate , but it is not gushing, is it? Meghan has to have a lot of conflicting feelings, love and concern for her father but FURY over what he has done and said - the mess he has created only days before their wedding and the huge embarrassment he has brought to the Royal Family. So, it is caring and compassionate, but very understandable that she could not bring herself to say “love”.

  65. I’m sorry, but I can’t remember what was said, if anything, about adult male members of the wedding party, other than Harry and William. I should think there would probably be ushers/groomsmen, who are usually friends of the groom, but so far, haven’t seen or heard a word about them yet. Has anyone else heard? As well, are my memory banks working even a little bit here: did I read somewhere that we won’t hear the new titles to be given to Harry and Meghan until sometime on Satuday?

  66. The earrings are lovely and I really like the top. IMO, it looks as though Meghan lost a bit of weight but that isn't unusual is it? :-)

  67. Dear Charlotte, brilliant and lovely post as always. I have been watching amazing wedding coverage on Channel 7 here all morning and they finished with a more than good montage of H&M photos. The past is the past and very much can't wait for tomorrow night and see the broadcast, and of course the dress and tiara - I'm going for the SpencerπŸ‘‘. The earrings Meghan is wearing in your post photos are stunning and good to see her in something that really stands out. Thank you again for your hard work. Bronwyn-Sydney.πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

  68. So very excited for tomorrow’s wedding & wishing Harry & Meghan the happiest of days! Just one point off the subject why do some royals NOT wear a seat belt when sitting in the back seat particularly as Diana may still be alive if she had worn one. Has me puzzled

Welcome to Mad About Meghan! We do so look forward to reading your thoughts. Constructive, fair debate is always encouraged. Hateful, derogatory terms and insults are not welcome here. This space focuses on Harry and Meghan, not any other member of the Royal family. It's not the place to discuss politics either. Thank you for reading, we look forward to your comments :)
