Royal Wedding Commemorative Items Galore!

With just over a fortnight to go until the wedding, we can safely say the countdown is on! A reader emailed me last week suggesting I write a post covering commemorative items and memorabilia available to mark the occasion. We'll begin with a look at the official collection from the Royal Collection Shop. The exclusive design shows a monogram surmounted by the coronet of Prince Harry, and tied together with white ribbons. The decorative borders are inspired by the mid-thirteenth century Gilebertus doors at St. George's Chapel. Below, the Official Commemorative Mug and the Official Commemorative Plate.

The obligatory Royal Wedding Tea Towel has been a must-have in my family through many a royal wedding. We also see the Commemorative Pillbox, the Candle featuring a rich floral fragrance of white lilies, orange blossoms, neroli, tuberose, violets and lily of the valley on a delicate base of vanilla and musk. Next, it's the Heart Decoration which combines the stars and stripes flag of the United States of America and the Union Jack flag of the United Kingdom.

A very nice replica of Meghan's engagement ring called the Buckingham Palace Statement Ring retails for £30.

The Commemorative Shortbread Biscuit Tube and Miniature Champagne.

This commemorative roundel features a delicately embroidered crown with the official royal wedding date. It's available at the Historic Royal Palaces shop.

If interested in purchasing wedding related pieces whilst supporting a worthy cause; For Richer, For Poorer is right up your street! All proceeds go to the Windsor Homeless Project, who work every day to support vulnerable people on the streets of Windsor in getting their lives back on track. The homeless population of the UK has doubled since 2010. You can view the collection here.

Cath Kidston has launched a range online and in store for royal fans.

The Harry and Meghan Royal Wedding Tote and Harry and Meghan Bowl.

I do love the Emma Bridgewater wedding mugs. They are also available at John Lewis.

The Millie Green Royal Wedding Apron and Royal Wedding Notebook.

Harrods are offering Royal Wedding Playing Cards and the Flowers and Flags Royal Wedding Tea Towel.

Fortnum & Mason launched a special limited edition Wedding Bouquet tea. "A limited edition blend to commemorate the marriage of HRH Prince Henry of Wales and Ms Meghan Markle on 19th May. This glorious blend marries English and American-grown mint with Jasmine green tea and is adorned with rose petals. Wonderful hot and superb iced too. Here’s to the happy couple!"

Royal Wedding biscuit tins are available at John Lewis, a matching Tea Caddy at Lakelend and Harvey Nichols is offering a Royal Wedding Hamper.

There's an array of unique items available on Etsy. For those planning to celebrate the wedding with friends and family, check out the Pre-Cut Cake Toppers, Union Jack Bunting, Personalised Royal Wedding Invitations and the Wedding Tray.

The When Harry Met Meghan T-Shirt and Royal Wedding Sweatshirt.

  2. I want all of it! Everything is lovely! The Heart Decoration is particularly tempting...

How are my fellow MAM blog commenters celebrating on the day? :) I'd love to hear!

One of my oldest friends will watch the wedding with me. We watched William and Kate's wedding together as well. My husband and I have a projector in our living room, so H&M will be larger than life. It will be 4 AM here in the Eastern US, so our viewing menu is Coffee... Lots Of Coffee. (Lol) I'll probably have a coffee cake or similar pastry on hand as well. After the wedding, we'll make a big breakfast. Ours will be a simple celebration, but we are excited all the same. :)

I really love them all! Good thing my computer is so slow today and won't take me to all the ordering sites. I love the Wedgwood blue design of the first items, and I love the more colorful items, too. Seeing "HM" on the china today is very very sweet. Can't wait for Becca to stop filming and see all these items!!!
Also, I heard about an exclusive Pez dispenser to be auctioned off--has anyone seen that yet?

Allison, I’ll have to look for the Pez dispenser—I kind of collect them. My dad used to buy them for my brothers and I all the time for Christmas, Easter, any holiday really.

    4. 🌸 Natalie, best wishes in finding the Pez dispensers as all the googles about Pez dispensers led me to only the ones about the Pez Company headquartered in Orange, Connecticut (yes Royal Wedding mania has hit the colonies, lol) is having a huge promotion. Guess what promotion that is. 😊
The Pez Company has created Pez dispensers that have a doll sort of of Harry on one and then a doll like Meghan on the other and they are a one of a kind set that they are auctioning off on EBay soon and 100% of the proceeds will go, in honor of the Royal Wedding, to the Make-A-Wish foundation.

I hope you find your souvenir Pez. You probably know where to look (hopefully), yeh? Let us know your search was successful, okay? :) 🤵👰🏻🏰🇬🇧

  5. I found a cup with their photo on it when I went to Home Goods in Phoenix AZ while looking for a step ladder for my Mom last month. I laughed and of course bought all six on the shelf. Just recently my family had lunch at a British Pub in Santa Monica where there is a large ex-pat community so the pub has a little shop with British goods. The same cups were there and the price for one was just a little less than I paid for all six at Home Goods. All the stuff you have posted are also for sale at the Ye Olde Kings Head in Santa Monica. I bought the apron for my neighbor who loves Diana's boys. I have the Emma Bridgewater mugs for George and Charlotte, we love drinking our morning coffee in them. Can't wait for the nuptials!

I agree on the "surreal" bit. But I guess she´s used to it by now (after all the security and other training, ;-)) )....

    2. 🌸 lol. rf. I know what you mean. I am not even Harry or Meghan and even I find the whole souvenir thing with their names and photos on everything-but the-kitchen sink a little bizarre. And, the souvenirs are everywhere. It has to seem surreal to them. :)
I am not against souvenirs, btw. And the ones available for Harry and Meghsn’s Wedding are some really nice ones. So many nice ones that it will be hard to choose. Budget alert and the “where-would-I-even-put-them” alert for sure, lol.

rf, can you imagine what Samantha and Thomas, Jr. must be going through seeing all the front page photos while going through the grocery store, etc., seeing all the television coverage and all the souvenirs everywhere? Can you imagine what that must be like for them? (I truely pray Thomas, Jr. keeps it together.)

    3. Surely, the people who have been managing Meghan and Harry's PR would have secured copyrights to their "wedding brand." That way they could stipulate that a certain percentage of profit goes to their charities. That is the only context in which I find all this souvenir business tolerable.
I have to admit, though, I now own a set of teacups and saucers from the coronation that my Mom had. I don't know where she got them but she once had them on display. I don't want to spoil the fun and anticipation. I just want H&M/charities to share in the bounty.

    4. I wonder if a royal couple has ever used their own commemorative china? I don't mean for formal entertaining, but imagine that roasted chicken or morning coffee! LOLOL.

  8. I love everything Cath Kidston makes and the royal wedding items are no exception! I wish these were available to buy here in SA, I would have loved a "H&M" mug or a lovely plate. *sigh* It must be so exciting for Harry and Meghan to see the excitement building and to also start the countdown :)

On a more personal note, I have to say that I find all these articles and letters in the news lately (by Meghan's half-siblings) to be extremely disturbing and downright nasty. I normally would never entertain such attempts to smeer another woman but I have to commend Meghan for just rising above it and maintaining her dignity and grace. It can't be easy having your family say things about you so publicly but Meghan has truly exhibited such maturity, composure and overall class. Keep shining girl!

Avee, I just simply ignore EVERY headline I see that has something to do with Meghan´s half-brother or sister. I have done so for the last couple of months as I do not want to further "support" their pettiness and nastyness and greediness by clicking on any story. The same goes for the outlets that print those stories. If we who at least do not dislike Meghan stop clicking on these articles or stop buying magazines that print them, it´s a good start!! So let´s all stop reading this b******t! Let´s read the stories that are fair, open, honest and interested in facts!

    2. I agree Avee. It must be terribly embarrassing for Harry and especially Meghan. This should be their happiest time and her low-life half-siblings are doing their best to ruin this fun and exciting time. Keep your chin up Meghan!

  10. Wow, what a great selection Charlotte - you'd think that reading some of the stuff outline, the nation wasn't that interested but this is a wonderful selection. Personally, I'm ignoring all the bad press (and presumably more from the Meghan Family) now for the next two weeks, I hope Meghan and Harry will take this time too to concentrate on their happiness. This is a celebration after all!
I won't be in the UK on the day as I'm working away in the Middle East and have been out there off and on the past few months - but surprised just how much coverage it's getting worldwide and how much interest there is - (she's been a cover girl on most of the Middle East Magazines for a while now) and E News from America is also a good source of general frivolity and excitement! Thankfully Sky and BBC worldwide will be covering it so I wont miss a thing. I'm making the most of being in The UK at minute and I'm also loving all the documentaries on UK TV - the "Mad about Meghan" night on Channel 5 made me think of you Charlotte!!

Oh my gosh I love all these things! Thanks for the post Charlotte, I am thoroughly enjoying looking at all this “sweet merch” Lol!

I especially love the tea towels and the ornaments. The ornaments remind me of something I would see on my grandma’s Christmas tree, which is always full of “historically important,” timeless, or antique ornaments. I also love the tea towels. The designs of all of them are so cute, it’s hard to pick a favorite but I think if I HAD to, I would say
the John Lewis design, although it’s my favorite by only a slim margin!

Very fun, a good way to make the wedding more exciting. Is anyone having a watch party? I’m going to be watching it with my (begrudging) husband who has no interest in it whatsoever but will kindly watch it with me (like he has a choice haha). I wonder what he would think if I made cupcakes and put pictures of H and M on top?

He’s shy. He is 72. He is going from recluse to the world stage overnight. Walking his daughter down the aisle he will have to be the strong Daddy in front of a Windsor Castle full of “important” people, including the Queen (and probably more important to him, Prince Phillip if he attends), he is countering the naysaying of his first two children by supporting Meghan with his presence, and he perhaps will be compensating for some leg issues he is said to have. Talk about “Man Up”. He is definitely answering the call. :)

Anon, I’m reading it right now. I would say that he is not overly negative but kind of sensationalizes trivial things. His language is overly “flowery” imo, but I think he does a fair job of describing her overall. He does mention things like once she stopped having a media presence surrounding her work with the UN, she “mysteriously” stopped doing any work for them.

I’m aware of the negative press surrounding her but I try not to read too much into it. Overall, it’s an interesting read, I would recommend it to someone interested in the wedding or in Meghan.

  29. All the memorabilia is cute. I remember the replica of Kate's ring from I believe the Royal Collection shop. I thought it odd at the time and once again I am thinking the same of Meghan's ring. I imagine they are something one buys for a little girls dress up box. They are such personal and treasured items that it surprises me they are sold among trinkets.
On another note, I read today that Harry and Meghan would not be leaving directly for their honeymoon rather we would see them in the days following their wedding for the first time as a married couple working. Additionally, the news story reminded us that Kate and William did not leave directly for their honeymoon since he still had a work commitment. I do understand that today many couples in the US for one reason or other choose to attend the morning after brunch with their out of town family and guests before departing a day or two later. I think this new
way of sliding the honeymoon into a specific date rather then immediately departing after the reception misses the mark. Regardless of how long you have been dating, or traveled together or have lived together you only have one honeymoon and the first twenty four hours after marriage I believe are for the couple. But, I do appreciate the fact that we are all different and new generations see and do things differently much to their liking.

USA Granny, I must agree... It´s somehow a little unromantic, don´t you think so? The wedding is such a "public" event for most couples, everybody wants "a piece of them", so going off to some romantic destination immediately afterwards is giving them some much, much needed "alone time" where they can unwind and at the same time think back and share their memories of the big day.
I know that many choose to do it differently today, for all sorts of reasons, but I must say, I prefer the "traditional" way.... ;-))

      Delete
    3. 🌸 USA Granny. That might have something to do with the fact that they already “know” each other, as did William and Kate, lol. If they didn’t, like more in the old days, they would be having the honeymoon directly after the wedding, yeh? 😉

To respond to SG's comment on another post about no refreshments for the outdoor guests, I have to agree. I think it is very tacky to spend hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars and then not give the waiting crowds a bottle of mineral water and a canister of shortbread cookies. I was invited once to a wedding but not to the reception and I was really insulted.

On a good note, all the new details seem to have drowned out the insane ramblings of the half-brother. He needs some serious counseling; I think he is so angry, jealous, abusive, .... that he will have a rough time during he rest of his life.

Still a bit confusing but, oh well, I wasn't invited anyway :) At aged 66 I wouldn't have lined up to see them entering and exiting when you get a better view on telly but were I in my 20s and still living in England or Ireland I would definitely have gone food or no food.

      Delete
    3. Curious. Did Sophie/Edward hand out water and food to the people they invited to watch who were gathered ouside ?

      Delete
    4. 🌸 Apparently, as I understand it, there are 1,600 people that Harry and Meghan invited. 200 of those people, the ones who have most significantly shown leadership and ultruism, will stand right outside the church and Harry and Meghan will do a brief meet and greet with them there. Then there is the group of people (2,500 or so?) who are simply access-allowed people from the general public.

      Delete
  33. I just read online comments elsewhere about the wedding and the public reaction online is just awful.
It is saddening that everyone can't just be happy for these two and wish them all the best.
Harry surely deserves happiness and if he feels Meghan is the one then fantastic.
I hope they are able to feel unaffected by all the vitriol and simply focus on their special day.
Wishing them both a long, happy life together.

  34. There was a time I thought of MM’s father meeting her at the entrance of St. George’s chapel (mainly because it had been reported that he has some issues with his legs and considering the several steps of the chapel). This would have left her mother to accompany her in the car and deliver the bride to her father at the entrance of the chapel. I am glad my wish will come true. It is also, best news so far other than their engagement. Once her diplomat uncle joined the media talk and commented, “The indifference is uncalled for ..” regarding no invitation to him and other family members, I was losing interest in MM. He is the uncle who got her the internship job in Argentina, which she had proudly mentioned in some interviews. To “save the world” and ignore family would have been ironic. Her poisonous half siblings of course must be excluded from the wedding, and may be even from her life altogether. At least it is good news her parents will be a part of the wedding.

  35. Those Bridgewater mugs are my favorite. Very excited that BBC America will join the live coverage. Watching the Kentucky Derby coverage and NBC is advertising wedding coverage beginning the 17th.

If we are going to have a trial of MM without her input, consider the two sides. An uncle who complains to the press---my uncle would have just laughed and said, "It's not important. We are just excited for her." An uncle who says something bad about a niece---why would he expect to be invited if there is no family love there? A father who does not insist that his family be included---because he knows why they are not included. It is very possible that MM was subjected to abuse and/or abuse of her mother. On the plus side, MM has remained friends with her college roommate and anyone of any caliber whom she has met. Even the ex-boyfriend Cory's mother thinks she's great. Even the ex-boyfriend says he is proud of her. The mother of the half-siblings is on MM's side. The children of the half-brother have taken their mother's maiden name to avoid connection with the brother. The brother said to not invite his sons. The half-sister has hated MM since she was born apparently, which speaks to the father's role as a parent. The sister's children have nothing to do with her. MM knows who cares about her---my husband has awful brothers who have done an enormous amount of evil things to him, yet one can find a few good actions. Once one bought him a Christmas present.
Once one fixed him a hamburger. We cannot judge without all the information and it seems MM is too classy to give us the details.

  37. I agree about "knowing" both sides, but there comes a point of influence on what we value. There had been consistent news the father was not invited, let alone walk her down the aisle. Like I said, it is good news he will be a part of it. Beyond this, I will have no further comment regarding her family. Best Wishes to Meghan, Harry and their families!

    1. Anon15 I do not agree with your take, I agree with Allisi, you have been hearing consistent news from Meghan's brother, and Samantha and then the media taking it up. If Meghan had keft her father out of the wedding there would have been a reason, whether we like it or not. And yes "no comment" policy is the best.

  39. 00:49,
I have every right to my opinion and how ended up being influenced one way or another, after a credible person's sincere statement, and other reliable news. I am never to be influenced by those who had nasty motives against their own half sibling. I just did not want to drag the subject into a discussion, under this very festive blog. The "no comment" policy is not necessarily always the best.

Enjoy your Sunday; It is my most favorite day of the week and enjoying it, and no hard feelings here. Hope to "see" you here at future blogs.

    1. Anon15 We are all entitled to our opinion, I agreed with Allison and stated I do not agree with your opinion and explained why. I was not looking to change your opinion because it is clearly your opinion which differs from mine simple as that. I do not see any ruckus here either.

  41. SG- What a beautiful way to end this day. So good to hear from the ever optimist and pleasant SG. Your courageously judicious intervention is divine on this Sunday. I continue to read your posts, Charlotte's and as many as I can of many people's posts in a day, on this blog. Charlotte's INVITATION was one merry news for the day as well. See you on that page. We are all invited at Charlotte's "home"; that is what matters, lol.
