Duchess Meghan in Summery Yellow Brandon Maxwell Dress for 'Your Commonwealth' Reception!

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the ‘Your Commonwealth’ Youth Challenge Reception at Marlborough House in London this evening.

The Duke and Duchess arrived holding hands.

The Palace said "The event marks an opportunity for the Duke, who was appointed by Her Majesty The Queen as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador earlier this year, to learn more about how the Commonwealth Youth Forum is supporting inspiring young people to shape the future." The couple plan to visit member nations across the Commonwealth in the coming years in their efforts to support young people.

The Commonwealth Youth Forum (CYF) provides an opportunity for the young people of the Commonwealth to build cross-cultural connections and networks, debate the challenges facing its young people, agree youth-led initiatives to influence decision makers and ensure young people have a voice in its future. The Youth Leadership Workshop brought together the newly elected Commonwealth Youth Council Executive and leaders of the Commonwealth Youth Networks, with the aim of empowering these leaders to think about the future, and their role in shaping it.

Marlborough House has a fascinating royal history. It was built for Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough, a confidante of Queen Anne, in 1711. For over a century it served as the London residence of the Dukes of Marlborough. From 1853 to 1861 Prince Albert, the consort of Queen Victoria, arranged for the building to be used by the "National Art Training School", later the Royal College of Art. In 1936 Marlborough House became the London residence of Queen Mary. In the grounds of the house remains her pet cemetery. After Queen Mary's death in 1953, Marlborough House continued to be used by various members of the royal family as a London residence before being leased to the Commonwealth Secretariat in 1965, something which continues today.

The Fine Rooms of Marlborough House contain exquisite murals, tapestries, paintings and sculptures which relay the history of the building and its various occupants over many centuries.

The reception was hosted by the Rt Hon Patricia Scotland QC, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, marking the culmination of the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Youth Leadership Workshop.

During a speech, Prince Harry said: "Meghan and I are incredibly excited to meet so many of you representing the future of the Commonwealth. We can’t wait to see you in action in your home countries and learn about what you’re doing to better the Commonwealth, and the world, in 2040 and beyond."

Hello! reports:

'As Commonwealth Youth Ambassador, Prince Harry gave a speech to the crowd. "My job as your ambassador is to listen and learn from you, to amplify your voices and bring your ideas to the attention of decision makers," he said as Meghan looked on proudly. The two held hands at the event, a show of affection that hasn't been common since their wedding in May. It's no wonder Prince Harry couldn't keep his eyes off his wife, who was positively radiant in the designer dress.'

The final day of the workshop brought together 120 young people, scholars, youth leaders, and representatives of High Commissions to take part in the 'Your Commonwealth' Youth Challenge event. Working in groups, these talented people are encouraged to generate ideas about the type of Commonwealth they want to see in the future.

The Commonwealth Youth Council's Chair, Tijani Christian, shared his views on the Leadership Training Workshop and Harry's new role. "It shows the importance that Her Majesty has placed on the role of young people within the Commonwealth."

Harry and Meghan enjoyed chatting with Mr Christian during the reception and learning more about his work.

Harry and Meghan met the young people who have taken part in the workshops and heard from them directly about their ideas for the future, and the support they need to ensure that their voices are heard.

Meghan chatted with Jacob Thomas about gender equality.

More from the Mail Online:

'Meghan impressed guests with her grasp of their concerns and vowed to continue her campaigning for gender equality.
Jacob Thomas, a 28-year-old activist from Melbourne, Australia, who supports the LGBT community, said: ‘The Duchess has had a very longstanding commitment to work for gender equality and she made it clear that will continue.’

The Duke and Duchess also met youth representatives from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga ahead of their tour this autumn.

An overview from the reception.

To conclude the evening, the couple listened to musical performances.

Now, I've been waiting to talk about THAT dress! We've seen Meghan opt for neutrals and soft tones since the Royal wedding and many of us have been awaiting a splash of colour. It was quite the sartorial surprise when the Duchess arrived in a stunning vibrant yellow dress by American fashion designer Brandon Maxwell. It's a gorgeous look on Meghan and the hue works very well with her colouring. It's a perfect choice for a summery evening reception. This is a 10/10 look for me.

The Crepe Midi Dress is described as "Brandon Maxwell's use of color for Spring '18 is more pronounced than it's ever been - case in point, this sunny yellow dress we first spotted on the runway. Designed with double-faced crepe, it has a flattering square neckline and is spliced at the back so you don't feel restricted as you move." It's available in very limited sizing reduced from £1,495 to $598 at Net-A-Porter and Moda Operandi (with thanks to Meghan's Fashion).

A closer look at the dress on the runway.

Background on the designer:

'CFDA Swarovski Award-winner Brandon Maxwell dresses actresses Deepika Padukone and Reese Witherspoon and has been Lady Gaga’s Fashion Director since 2012, so he knows exactly how to create clothes that are powerful, glamorous and transform how women feel.'

Brandon Maxwell described the news as "A proud moment for our team".

Three pieces from the current collection include the Stretch Crepe Halterneck Sheath Dress in lime, the Ribbed Bodice Midi Dress and the Pintuck Flare Hem Dress.

What Meghan Wore noted the Duchess accessorised with her Adina Reyter 14k Gold Three Diamond Amigos Curve Earrings. They retail for $498 at ShopBop.

The Duchess wore her Manolo Blahnik BB pumps in beige suede.

A closer look at Meghan's updo.

An interesting piece from The Telegraph:

'This appearance is a big deal for the newlyweds who are taking the reigns of the project from the Queen after her lifelong service to the Commonwealth, so it's essential that the new Duchess make a great impression. Much like at the Queen's Young Leaders Awards, today's outing involved a much younger audience than Meghan's usual appearances had, so it could be said, would be a great excuse for a return to her slightly more 'daring' looks.
As is synonymous with her new style however, the Duchess kept her look elegant and smart but with a playful twist. While we're used to this being via an off-the-shoulder cut or halterneck, it's the summery hue of her dress that provided the fashion curveball. The buttery slim-fit frock was worlds away from the cream dresses she's favoured of late and a welcome addition to her colour palette.
While it may seem rebellious, the bright yellow hue perfectly complemented the occasion, too; the Duke and Duchess were meeting with young leaders of the future, and not to mention the sunny shade is ideal for the current heatwave we're experiencing in London. While the modest dress is perfectly fit for a Duchess, the bright shade shows a fun playful side to Meghan, proving that the new Duchess will happily adhere to her new unspoken style rules, but she'll always add her own twist, striking the perfect balance.'

What do you think of Meghan's look?

We also have news of a very interesting upcoming engagement to share. On Tuesday, 17th July, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will open the Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition at Southbank Centre's Queen Elizabeth Hall. This exhibition explores the life and times of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela (1918 – 2013) and marks the centenary of his birth. It provides insight into Mandela’s journey from young freedom fighter to becoming the inspiration for an international movement against South Africa’s violent and oppressive apartheid system. The exhibition is based around six themes (Character, Comrade, Leader, Prisoner, Negotiator, Statesman), and is made up of information and photo panels, along with films and archive items from different periods of Nelson Mandela's life.

Serena Williams is playing on Centre Court at Wimbledon tomorrow afternoon. There's a good possibility we'll see Meghan there :)

  4. Phenomenal! Yellow is a really good colour for brunettes, is I do say so myself.

Harry’s suit and tie seem so drab in comparison!

    2. actually in a close up photo, I saw on one of the news sites, it shows that his tie is like a dark sage green & it's quite complimentary to Meghan's dress! So together they compose a yellow, navy, white, sage green palette....... She dresses him well!! (wink wink) :)

    3. I would like to see Harry in dark dark gray---these blue suits are so one-dimensional.

I'll look for the tie. :)

      Delete
    4. Have to backtrack on the suit comment---the navy is a lot nicer than just "blue"

      Delete
    5. If I’m not mistaken yellow and blue are the colours on the commonwealth flag but will have to double check but we did see it in Ottawa. However, that might be a stretch to think it was a factor in choosing the dress and suit.

      Delete
    6. I don't think it is necessarily a stretch, Tracy. She has paid homage through fashion before. I am thinking green in Ireland and POW plaid top in Wales, for example. However, I am also hoping this represents a change to more use of colorful fabrics, perhaps when not around HM in a crowd. I don't think it matters so much when HM doesn't have to be singled out in a crowd--although, people wear all sorts of colors at garden parties. Kate's yellow and white Emilia Wickstead maternity dress she wore to a garden party was one of my favorites. I don't recall if the Queen was at that one.

Does anyone know if this dress was altered for Meghan, other than fittings? I thought the slit looked much higher on the model than on MM's dress. Before the photo of MM showing the slit came through I was wondering a little.

    7. Yes, Meghan’s and Harry’s colours are similar to the blue and yellow of the Commonwealth Flag. Not sure if that was intentional. Either way, Meghan looked beautiful. Both Harry and William seem to often wear blue suits with the same tie, year after year. Glad to see a little change with Harry (assuming some influence from Meghan).

    1. She so does Becca! This look has just made my day - multiple jumpy claps with loud cheers! To be honest, I hope she gradually ditches most of the neutral choices if this is how great she looks in brights. I seriously can't wait to see what she wears on the Aus/NZ tour if this is the way she's going. Bring it on!

    2. Helen, I totally agree! I hope hope hope this is the beginning of a bright new chapter of fashion selections, incorporated into her regular repertoire of neutrals!! :)

    3. I agree with you ladies. I was so happy to see such a fun, bold color and it looks fantabulous on her! I also hope she wears more of these colors instead of the neutrals (although at times I can understand bring out a neutral--but even Kate wore red when appearing with the Queen on a few occasions). I'm also happy to see her hair so elegant and tidy! =D

      Delete
    4. I am sorry to disagree with you ladies, but I love the muted neutral tones on her! I think she can strike a balance between these lively colourful outfits and the neutrals and keep all of us happy! 😉

  17. Her yellow with a touch of orange and the other lady's outfit look like zinnia colors. Very summery and cheerful.

  18. Love the dress on her. I also like that it appears she didn't feel obligated at this daytime event to carry a useless probably empty clutch. I like the "pared down" effect.

    ReplyDelete
  19. She can really carry off this bright color and I love it! Wondering if she felt able to wear such a bright color today because she wasn't appearing with the Queen who normally is the one wearing a vivid shade? I know she favors neutral tones but she may also be being very cognizant of trying to be more demure when accompanying HM. Just a thought.

  20. The Commonwealth flag is yellow and blue, so Harry and Meghan's look together references the the flag. The dress gives Meghan such a beautiful, long elegant silhouette. No purse or umbrella, to occupy the hands, brave woman! Meghan looks elegant and composed.

    1. I agree Anon, her posture tonight was so elegant!! I'm more than a bit of posture nut and it's wonderful to see that Meghan has taken steps to correct her minor posture quibbles from her first few engagements. Personally I think that by not holding her hands directly in front of her lower body enables her keep her shoulders back and chin up. I tried one time to walk and stand like Kate does with her hands holding her clutch right in front of her lower body and found my shoulders starting to roll forward and becoming slouchy. This evening Meghan was holding her hands a diaphragm level which allows the shoulders to remain back and the back to remain straight.

  30. I love the fact that everyone is so enthusiast. Not even a full post yet and everyone is jumping out of the chair and clapping - FYI, so am I. I have to say, she looks stunning - great dress for her body. Have to wonder how it's the right length for her - given that she's not super tall. Think she had it hemmed?

Very classic, very simple, the perfect ensemble to let her smile shine. I love this color (have a dress almost this exact color) and every time I wear it at least one person will comment - wow, you're so bright and cherry today.

Someone posted above - might be my most favorite thing she's worn - and I have to agree. The Navy Roland Mouret was just as amazing on her IMHO and I did like the beige Givenchy she wore with HM.

    Can't wait to see more.

  34. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! Perfect hair, beautiful dress. She could rock pretty much any bright/jewel tone. I’m picturing her in the red or blue Brandon Maxwell dresses shown here and I think she’d look great it either colour. I hope we see more of these bright, cheerful colours on her. My only quibbles are that I think it would look even better with the belt like on the runway model, and I’m not crazy about the nude pumps with it. It would be hard to improve on this fabulous look though. Love it!

  35. I also love seeing the subtle ways that her personal style has been tweaked since she became an HRH. I love the sleek look of her bun. Her recent "Duchess buns" are the types many of us had craved when she was sporting her messy buns during their engagement. It seem, to me, every aspect about her transition has been thought through perfectly. I still enjoy her look during their engagement period & leading right up to & including her Wedding Day! Then Poof.... beginning with Charles' Garden Party, "HRH The Duchess of Sussex" appeared & since that time, her "Duchess work style" has been distinctly different than her MM fiance style. (her off duty style not included) I just think it's brilliant the way, if one just looks at her style from The Engagement Announcement to Now...... that there's a distinct "before & after" to her style! I just love how she has carried her whole transition out! Brilliant! Excited for their future! :)

For me this outfit was beautiful and apropos for the occasion but I would have loved to see it with the belt on the model. No matter, she looked every bit a duchess today.

I love that she wears very dainty pieces like the earrings she wore today. So many people in the spotlight wear big statement pieces, I think it is refreshing and classic that she sometimes chooses dainty pieces. I think her petite-ness makes it easier for those dainty pieces to stand out.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Completely stunning, down to the simple jewelry and nude heels. She's letting the yellow take center stage, and it's the right choice for me. I do think we'll continue to see bright colors with simple silhouettes in the future, when the occasion seems right. Yaaaaay, total win today!

  40. Just beautiful! Love her sleek hair too.

When I think of Marlborough House I think of King Edward VII (Bertie) and Queen Alexandra. They lived there for years and years during their very long reign as the Prince and Princess of Wales. Queen Victoria had stayed away from London and the public eye after Prince Albert died. The Prince and Princess of Wales took on the public face of the Monarchy so Marlborough house was the center of social life and politics in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with the social group close to the Prince being called "The Marlborough Set".

I hope I get to at least drive by it while touring London next week! :)

    1. fg, I'm so glad you brought that up. That's how I always think of this house too. When I hear Marlborough House, I think of Edward VII in his adult years as Prince of Wales. Alexandra was a Saint in my book !! However I was never sure how it transitioned from The Churchills (Dukes of Marlborough) to The Prince of Wales during the late 1800's. So it was interesting reading Charlotte's history of the house prior to it changing hands & then after Edward VII died. I too hope that you can drive by it when you are there! :)

    2. I agree! I love Queen Alexandra from what I've read. I would like to read a full biography on her.

I am starting a biography on King George V and Queen Mary so I'm sure Marlborough will take on an additional meaning to me after that.

On day 4 of our trip (Thursday July 12) we have an 8 hour (!) private tour of sites special to the Monarchy. In all that time surely we can drive by Marlborough House I hope!

    3. Marlborough House and Clarence House are on either side of St. James’s Palace, where you’ll be going during the christening. The Chapel Royal is at the Palace. You can get glimpses of Marlborough House behind its high walls. Surely your tour will also go there. Enjoy!

  41. I could never pull off that shade of yellow but she certainly can, and I love this look! It's elegant but totally unstuffy. Love that it's not a neutral blush/cream color. My ONLY nitpick (and it's a small one) is that for a summery sheath dress like this I feel like the hem could have been a little higher. I know Meghan favors the midi-length but I think sheath dresses look best slightly below the knee. But otherwise, gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  42. That's just like Meghan to surprise us all with such a punch of color, all while keeping her classic, elegant lines! She looks 100% amazing today. The dress fits perfectly, the bun is super chic yet again, and yellow is my favorite color! I'd love to see her begin to incorporate more of these bright pieces into her wardrobe to interject with the neutrals. She really can wear anything, I think.

I cannot say enough great things about this look! Love to see some color on the Duchess of Sussex. I disagree with some who describe this as a style evolution for Meaghan from fiancé to wife. I see it as more of a tweaking. She has stayed true to her preferences for modern sleek lines, contemporary styles, bare arms and solid colors. Out of respect she has tweaked her hair, hose, etc., but I don't see it as an evolution. The woman likes what she likes. And she looks amazing!!

  47. The dress is gorgeous and the color and style suit her petite frame so very well. I love it, however a necklace or a broach are needed since as we know the Duchess prefers small posted earrings. The shoes are beautiful, but had she worn something with color it would have really made her ensemble pop. I really like the look on the model best. Nevertheless she is very beautiful today and I hope she continues this style, because IMO the baggy dresses with the long full weird hemlines just don't flatter her lovely petite frame.

    1. I have no doubt she continued with her yoga practice - I started doing yoga twice a week in January and if I miss one of the days, I feel it all over my body so I’m sure she is the same. It would also be a fun way to bond with her mom over FaceTime or Skype - the time difference would be a challenge but it would probably be worth it once or twice a week.

  57. I guess I’m in the minority re this outfit. The simplicity of the dress is nice but it is an awkward length for her height. Bigger earrings would also soften the look.

  58. Love the yellow. Love the color. Love Harry and Meghan:)

  59. Meghan looks stunning, chic and so modern. Love this look completely. Now that she is part of the royal family, does she get a stylist and a hairdresser like Kate does? Just curious.

    1. Basque Girl, we know that Kate has a hairdresser but we debate as to whether or not she has a stylist. I don't think these people automatically come once a person becomes part of the Royal Family. Rather, there is the financial means for the hiring of any staff or assistance that is needed.

    2. No idea if the Royal Family pays for stylists but I believe Meghan has used a stylist in the past prior to Marrying Harry so she might still be using one regardless of who is paying.

BEAUTIFUL, STUNNING, GREAT, WOW, SHE NAILED IT. Add all the superlatives you know - I´m fine with them!!! LOL!! 10 out of 10 in every possible way. I LOVE this colour on her. She and Harry go from success to success - just look at the pictures. They already are one hell of an asset to the monarchy. And they will continue to become even better at what they do, I´m 100% certain of that. I just hope that people in Britain&the media know what gem they have right in front of them....

  62. Sorry to throw food water on this dress. I love the color! But hate the wrinkle factor and the bust outline. Maybe if she had worn the belt, it would take away from the nipple outline. Love her hai .

  63. Wow! What an absolutely stunning look for Meghan! The pop of colour, the fit, the simplicity of the design, the minimal accessories... just perfect! I also love that her hair is neatly tucked into a bun. So elegant and beautiful! Keep it up Meghan :)

Also, very happy to hear about the opening of the Nelson Mandela centre. Very fitting to celebrate the life of an icon :)

I like the dress, simple and elegant but very bright. Earings are beautiful. The shade of colour is perfect on her, but I love neutrals too. She has innate elegance and perfect figure and posture. And what's more important she looks really happy to be with Harry among people from all over the commonwealth.

  65. What a fantastic look. I absolutely love the yellow dress and Meghan is really rocking it. I am not fond of the lenght though. I know the midi-length is very popular right now, but I always think it cuts the legs off at an unflattering place. Not even people with awsome legs as Meghan can get away with it in my eyes. But whatever- I think this is her best "on duty" look so far and I seriously love it. This is the perfect mix between classic and modern.

  67. Wonderful! I'd like to see this dress again with the belt too, she looks summery chic!

  68. The dress is lovely but would have been SOOOO much nicer with the belt and some fun shoes.

  69. I love this dress because it fully embraces her body type instead of covers her body type. It is simple and elegant and remains true to her understated style. Some people think she should wear more flashy earrings and a necklace. But that is totally not her style. Meghan wears very delicate and minimalist jewelry.

  70. Meghan looked lovely. Her updo was clean, which I like. I love the yellow dress on Meghan. A great choice. I hope a matching yellow coat was made for future engagements in this dress similar to Rt. Hon Patricia Scotland's dark coral ensemble. I like that look and think it would look great on Meghan for arrivals or departures or when there is a need to be even more formal or dressed up. Or maybe a belt or a larger piece of jewelry or something. I just felt it was missing a second piece and she is such a minimalist when it comes to jewelry. Nevertheless, she looked lovely. And as an aside, Harry's tie was a poor color choice in my opinion. Haha.

  71. Love the color. Don't like the cut. But that's my personal taste. I'm just glad Meghan found something else in her closet that isn't creamy/beige/pink.

    1. As a brit who now speaks like an American, I can attest to picking up inflection and cadence quickly when you are surrounded by people speaking 5hat way. I listened to her speak and she hasn't lost her accent but I did detect a British inflection once!

      Delete
  72. I just saw a video of a walk-about with Meghan speaking. The article asked the question if Meghan is losing her American accent. If it were me, I 100% guarantee I'd eventually sound British! I pick up others' accents without meaning to. I hope no one jumps on this and accuses her of being fake. I would think it's nearly impossible to live with someone, be around people, and hear radio and television spoken with an accent not your own and you not pick it up somewhat. :)

    1. As someone who has moved quite a few times from state to state in the Southeast US, I never picked up any accents. In fact, I do not sound like I am from "the South". When others find out that I've lived in the region my entire life, they are frequently surprised, because I do not have an accent reflective of the deep south. While some people pick up accents easily, others do not. It is not a given that just because you live in a particular place with a distinctive accent, that you will naturally adopt it. I have American friends who have lived in the UK for a long time and they do not speak with a British accent. I am sure that Meghan has no doubt learned common British phrases and terms, while probably teaching Harry common American phrases and terms. I can envision lighthearted moments between them, if one uses a word or phrase the other doesn't naturally understand. They will learn from each other. I just hope she never feels that she must lose her "American-ness".

    3. I wish I didn't pick up accents so easily - it's embarrassing at times. Lol

In the video she sounded more British than she used to in my opinion.

I hope she doesn't get ridiculed too much. It's a tough problem to have because people who aren't like that just can't believe you are not doing it on purpose. Surely she wouldn't ever do it on purpose.

In preparation for my 9 day trip to England tomorrow I made my mama promise to say something the second I say something that doesn't sound like the Tennessee girl that I am! Lol. I love the British accent but it's not mine and my friends will be laughing at me when I get back if I don't watch out for it! :)

    4. So Florida Girl, are you originally from Tennessee, now living in Florida? Bon Voyage, have a great trip!

  73. I have been examining myself to understand why I get excited to see new pictures of Meghan, and I have come to the conclusion that it’s because she often surprises me with her looks. I love that she doesn’t always dress like the other female members of the royal family, I do not care for Catherine’s fashion, I do not want to see Meghan in coat dresses or “high street” (IMO too short and cheap looking) dresses. She just almost always surprises me, and this was no exception, this dress looks amazing on her. I am not generally a a person who wears bright colors, but this one is a fantastic. I also don’t want to draw conclusions, i.e. she is “dressing the part now” or any other of the other inferences people are making. For me this is about style, and her style is hers, fun and probably not going change that much.

    1. Spot-on you beautifully articulated what i had been trying to put into words all along. She wears what she likes. She seems to prefer not so skkn tight clothing and her dresses reflect that . Its not a mistake on the part of fashion houses esp ones like Givenchy and none of this is an accident. I for one am glad she dresses in her own style which is professional and chic without baring anything

  76. I am glad the Duchess of Sussex is a strong woman and has the integrity to stay true to what makes her happy re her fashion style (as long as it is not conflicting with ACCURATE protocol). It is good for us to have opinions but the Duchess has to be happy with what she wears; as should we. The Duchess has shown a lot of strength of character as she BEGINS Royal life. Charlotte, thanks for the info re Nelson Mandela. Looking forward to that event.

  77. Wow! Meghan looks great! Wearing yellow can be tricky, yet she pulls it off with that tone of yellow. I know, I have Mediterranean skin color... and still sunscreen is a must. When Meghan has her hair pulled into a bun, the image is clean and fresh... very attractive and sophisticated... And when the duchess genuinely smiles, she seems always approachable and fun, hair up or down in coiffed curls. Cheers to Meghan and Harry!

  78. She looks gorgeous! And so happy! Seriously she could wear a paper bag and look beautiful, but she rocks this shade of yellow. She and Harry are 'the Royals' at the event so it makes sense she would pick a bright color so people could see her. When with The Queen, softer colors might just be a matter of not upstaging Her Majesty.

  79. Meghan's outfit was beautiful it reflects her (sunny disposition) lucky lady she can wear yellow beautifully.
I did think it was a tad long though.

  80. In some of the photos, the image had picked up sunflower combo of bright yellow and brown. Over all it is a refreshing change which looks nice on her. Versatility is the secret of spicing up style; this one is one striking example.

  81. What a beautiful outfit! the yellow suits him so well. Harry and Meghan seemed to have a good time and it's always nice to see them hold hands

  82. Such a stunner our Meghan is! (I think it’s OK for me to say that, as a member of the commonwealth ;) I love this outfit, and was delighted to see that she’s not averse to wearing such a bright and cheerful pop of colour! I find that more and more I look at her face rather than what she’s wearing, in up-closer shots, anyway. She radiates happiness, and interest in the people she meets. Just a lovely young woman with oodles of what seems to be genuine charm and warmth! This is a power couple if ever there was one. (Not to take anything away from Kate and William, whom I love too - I hope that we’ll see both couples together at some functions but realize that they’re on different tracks re their commitments.) We’re so lucky to have you, Charlotte, to help us keep track of them in such a positive and interesting way!
