In *this* instance, Meghan was not sitting with her fellow costars doing an interview for a Hollywood reporter. In that case, I would share your opinion that her demeanor was professional. But the reality is that she appeared, with her husband to be at a Forum that was associated with his efforts and accomplishments (along with W&K). Under these circumstances, it is my opinion that humility, reserve, and recognition of HIS efforts would have been the "professional" thing to do for a future member of the RF. It is not taking away from her to put the spotlight on her husband to be when the situation warrants it. It makes for a happy marriage and a smooth royal path. Goodness knows that he has done everything in his power to put the spotlight on her and that's great. But fair is fair. Again, it isn't about confidence or the lack there of. One can be quite confident and know when to take control and speak up, or not. Perhaps this is what you were referring to with my past remarks, but I cannot be sure.

General statement and opinion on my part: one can be 1000% confident without uttering a word. Another person can be quite vocal while at the same time reflecting a lack of confidence or need to fit in. We're talking attitude and behavior here. Again, IMO.royalfanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11828752698849878170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-523822918879524553.post-41891249808717355082018-03-07T18:37:15.899+00:002018-03-07T18:37:15.899+00:00Adjusting ones whole lifestyle isn’t some short te...Adjusting ones whole lifestyle isn’t some short term thing. Meghan spoke for herself and explained how experienced she was,how she had worked with NGO and bigger organisations and how she had done a lot behind the scenes and how she was ready to hit the ground running. It may not have been her intention but it sounded like self promotion and knowing it all. We don't know if that was her intent but we can comment on what impression her words and het actions ( interrupting, over speaking) give. As SG says, it should be a thing to work on, for perception is everything.H.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-523822918879524553.post-89036994371582274822018-03-07T18:14:08.882+00:002018-03-07T18:14:08.882+00:00PS, yes I agree, double standards for sure. What you said is well and good but regardless of her age and experience, being confident in a considerate and humble way is very powerful. I think that shows true wisdom and maturity. Talking over people (sometimes loudly) and interrupting is rude and since the dawn of humanity always has been. Those things can be overcome though, thankfully. I think Meghan will make those necessary adjustments. It would be a basic charitable thing to do. And she aspires to a charitable lifestyle. She’ll work it out. I find it ludicrous reading comments like she looked too comfortable, confident and loud and her being professional is somehow bad compared to the other 3 and their natural vulnerability - it feels like some deliberately look to manufacture anything bad to say. One can be confident (as in state of mind) and that's a wonderful thing. Actions are different story. What *I* saw, on more than one occasion now, is her speaking over Harry and dominating the conversation. She did it during the engagement interview and again during the Forum. I am not suggesting that she should act like a wallflower, but acting like she has it all under control and has nothing to learn going forward, may not be the most successful approach here. Just my opinion. royalfanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11828752698849878170noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-523822918879524553.post-8034218012333158742018-03-06T14:25:43.440+00:002018-03-06T14:25:43.440+00:00Good points made Monica!Good points made Monica!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-523822918879524553.post-57630636944887793682018-03-06T14:22:26.939+00:002018-03-06T14:22:26.939+00:00I like that you clearly state you like the Duchess...I like that you clearly state you like the Duchess style, yes she has a style that other people like. SMH
she should keep being herself and if anyone feels overshadowed they should step their game up. There is nothing wrong with intelligent confident women instead of society being intimidated by them they should embrace them and learn from them. It’s messed up that a man is never told to appear less smart or to not be confident in himself. Sorry Charlotte for the mini rant.
Another thing it was an indoor event I’m sure it wasn’t cold in the building so her wearing a sleeveless dress is fine.
Anyone who followed Meghan knows she been about women empowerment before Harry came into her life. It shouldn’t have shocked anyone that she mentioned those movements. Especially since 4 months ago she was apart of that industry that promotes those movements. Treating women like human beings instead of property isn’t a political issue. Besides she merely mentioned those movements as examples.
All four personalities are good for the monarchy it shows that this generation of the royal family are in touch with what’s going on right now. The fact that they are embracing a feminist shows that. Meghan knows that she has a lot to learn and she knows that there are rules she has to follow. Clearly she’s been doing that, learning about her new life and still being herself. I get what people are saying on here about her coming off as though she has no learning curve. M does come off very confident...does it translate at moments to overconfident? Maybe. Overall I think she's doing great, though. I don't love this dress but I think my tastes follow the duchess' tastes overall. The two are very different and that's A-ok. Every relationship ...I could not agree more, Becca. Every relationship goes through highs and lows. That is true for relationships of professional nature, and also personal nature. The fact that we have so far seen Meghan and Harry on "high" is great, because it means that they have so much potential, and so much to bring to the royal family and the world. The nagging feeling that I have, is that we have not seen the low. I wish we had seen the low, and how they would handle that. We know that William and Kate have been through some lows, together and professionally. We now see that they are on their way up, and we love it. Heck, even Charles and Camilla have survived enormous pressure throughout their lives, and they seem rock solid. I think that Harry and Meghan would benefit from a personal and professional "low" before their wedding. Just for them to be sure that they are both making the right decision. This is meant in the most positive and supportive way possible. I really want Harry and Meghan to thrive and to be amazing.Royal Watcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01449701460258880381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-523822918879524553.post-84378465099566499312018-03-03T20:04:55.894+00:002018-03-03T20:04:55.894+00:00🌸 I’ve had those same feelings, Becca. 🌸 I’ve had those same feelings, Becca. surfer girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03655593111136213050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-523822918879524553.post-61839630561573472472018-03-03T01:43:37.076+00:002018-03-03T01:43:37.076+00:00I liked Meghan’s dress except it seemed strange to...I liked Meghan’s dress except it seemed strange to have a sleeveless dress in the middle of winter, even with a coat for outside.
