The reception is Meghan's second Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting event. Yesterday she and Harry attended a reception with deletegates from the Youth Forum. I suspected it very likely we would see Meghan attend an engagement in support of women during this historic week. Women's issues have long been an area of interest for the future Duchess. I understand she has been privately visiting organisations around the UK focused on the area and supporting women will form an important part of her official work after the wedding.
The couple were greeted by host Boris Johnson and his wife Marina Wheeler.
It is exactly one month until the Royal Wedding :)

The 2018 Women's Forum reflected on some of the global challenges still faced by women, as part of a wider commitment to "leave no one behind" in the Commonwealth journey to achieving gender equality by 2030. The Forum addressed the theme of "An empowered future for women and girls".
Throughout the week, sessions have focused on the following: Women in leadership, Women, peace and security, Women's economic empowerment, Gender parity in education, Ending violence against women and girls and Eliminating harmful practises.
Harry and Meghan were in terrific form as they chatted with guests.
Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, launched his Platform for Girls Education, a group of 12 influential figures from across the Commonwealth who will drive forward the political momentum on girls’ education.

Yesterday the government confirmed plans to ensure one million girls across the Commonwealth get a quality education to play a transformational role in their communities and societies:
'Almost one million vulnerable and marginalised girls in developing countries across the Commonwealth will receive the life-changing education they need to become the thinkers and leaders of the future, the Prime Minister announced.
130 million girls around the world are missing out on school, and in Sub-Saharan Africa fewer than 1 in 20 poor, rural girls are on track to complete secondary school.
The Department for International Development (DFID) Girls Education Challenge will make sure 920,000 girls continue their education through primary, secondary school and training, so they can fulfil their potential to play a transformational role in their communities, economies and political institutions.
Today’s announcement will also give a further 53,000 adolescent girls in developing countries across the Commonwealth, who have never attended or dropped out of school due to poverty, motherhood, disability or conflict, a second chance to learn through catch-up classes and vital skills training.
DFID is also launching a new research partnership with the Malala Fund and the UN Girls’ Education Initiative (UNGEI) to help governments better harness their own resources to break down barriers to education for the most marginalised girls.'
'Speaking with a group of young women who are championing the rights of girls to free education, Harry said: “What you are doing is absolutely amazing. Kiki James, an activist from Nigeria who is a champion with the Malala Fund, told reporters, “He said we are moving with the tide, moving in the right direction.”
Peace, a 15-year-old schoolgirl from Nigeria who spoke at the summit earlier this week during the Educate to Empower session, added, “I told Meghan she was pretty, which she is. She said she watched me give my speech. She said she was really impressed, and that that is what she wants girls to do.”
Hope, an 18-year-old from Kenya who campaigns on equal education rights for girls, said she told Meghan and Harry “that if they empower girls we won’t let them down.” She added: “Meghan Markle was talking about how it has a rippling effect — how if you empower girls they empower the next generation in the community.”
Royal reporter Rebecca English wrote: "It is clear that both Harry and Miss Markle, who made clear her intention to 'hit the ground running' when it came to her official duties, plan to take a lead in Commonwealth matters." I saw several people on social media calling Meghan and Harry 'The Commonwealth Couple'. It has a very nice ring to it and seems entirely apt given their shared interest and plans for the future.
After the reception, Boris Johnson tweeted: "Girls’ education is the Swiss Army knife that solves a multitude of the world’s problems. Fantastic that HRH Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle joined me tonight to launch 12yrs of quality education for world's poorest girls in our Commonwealth."
This morning, William and Harry joined Prince Charles, the Queen and a number of other royals for the CHOGM official opening in the Buckingham Palace ballroom. During a significant speech, Her Majesty expressed her "sincere wish" that her son will succeed her as Head of the Commonwealth: “It remains a great pleasure and honour to serve you as Head of the Commonwealth and to observe, with pride and satisfaction, that this is a flourishing network. It is my sincere wish that the Commonwealth will continue to offer stability and continuity for future generations, and will decide that one day The Prince of Wales should carry on the important work started by my father in 1949.”

The $375 style is available at Black Halo, Saks Fifth Avenue, ShopBop, Amazon and Spring. For those in the US, you can avail of a $75 discount at Bloomingdales with code SAVEMORE.
More from the product description:
'Finespun gabardine tailored with a beautifully draped neckline and accented with a slender contrast belt. Drape neckline, Modified cap sleeves and concealed back zip.'
The dress in red and blue.
The Jackie O is very much a staple at the Los Angeles based brand. The celebrity favourite has been worn by Blake Lively, Tyra Banks and Katherine Heigl. Founder and creative director Laurel Berman discussed its popularity:
'The Jackie O Dress made her debut in our Fall 2006 collection. The dress was an instant hit! “Jackie” could be worn to work, cocktails and dinner afterwards! From everyday working women to Hollywood celebrities, everyone loved the flattering fit. My design philosophy has always been to make women feel 2” taller and 5lbs thinner when slipping into a Black Halo dress.
Like the woman she was named after, the dress became a modern classic. As the Black Halo brand had become synonymous with style and fit, the Jackie O Dress is the embodiment of the brand.'
Below, the dress in Polka-Dot Print and a look at the 3/4 Sleeve version.
Meghan's gorgeous shoes are the Aquazzura Milano 105 Suede pumps (with thanks to Perth Fashion). They retail for $750 at My Theresa.
Also today, Harry and Meghan made the Time 100: Most Influential People of 2018 List. Reporter Simon Perry shared a peek inside.
'Somewhere among biryani, poutine and endless conversations, I realized just how deeply Meghan Markle cares for the world. With her, what you see is real, and what you get is a relatable young woman with her heart and mind in the right place. Her compassion, evident in the causes she supports, and her drive to break down stereotypes—obvious in her actions—will connect her to a generation in much need of kindness.
This ever-smiling, strong free spirit found her prince, fell in love and in turn made a cynical world believe in fairy tales again. But more than anything else, Meghan is an important influencer in a world that needs strong public figures to respect and look up to. People the world can be inspired by. Meghan, standing shoulder to shoulder with Harry, will be a princess for the people.
Love always, my friend. Live happily ever after.'
'I first met an extremely shy and sweet Prince Harry at a private lunch at Kensington Palace, given by his mother Princess Diana for Gianni Versace and me many years ago. What a joy it has been to see that young boy grow to inherit his mother’s warmth, sense of humor and courage to stand up and champion the causes he truly believes in.
Harry and I have bonded over a passionate desire to end the global AIDS epidemic, a disease for which his mother did so much important early work to fight stigma and build awareness.
He is equally passionate when it comes to reducing the stigma surrounding mental-health issues—blowing a much-needed breath of fresh air into the British stuffiness that has kept vital conversations lurking in the shadows.
The Invictus Games are his creation, and they give dignity and hope to injured armed services personnel and veterans by offering a spectacular and inspirational global competition in sport.
Prince Harry has that rare ability to walk into a room full of strangers and make everyone feel comfortable and at ease. As he has grown in maturity, I have watched him take on these causes with the remarkable skill to see and communicate how it truly feels for the people he is trying to help.'
Looking good, Meghan!
ReplyDeleteSuch a worthy initiative and I’m so glad they are involved in supporting women’s rights and equality. Because she is dressed perfectly for the occasion, it’s easier for me to focus on why they are there instead of what she is wearing. Love everything about this appearance!
DeleteShe looks stunning!! Those shoes and that lovely dress, hair up!!! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see her wearing royal jewels, hope she will get the opportunity.
DeleteI love it!!
DeleteNailed it! Meghan looks fantastic!! That dress is totally Meghan but also perfect for a cocktail reception! This is also how you slay a messy bun/updo! Makeup and accessories, dead on.
ReplyDeleteI would love to comment on the 'event' but it's a cocktail reception. I love that they are supporting and empowering women but that's about all there is to say about it at this point. Maybe after speeches there will be more to say.
Her best look yet!
ReplyDeleteShe is chic in black! I love the updo and the belted dress. But mostly, I'm thrilled to see the continuation of Meghan's passion for women's empowerment!
ReplyDeleteYesyesyes !!
DeleteBeautiful look! Just read that London had their hottest April day on record. She looks cool and elegant. Noticed first woman in line curtsied, a bit ahead of protocol since she’s not yet married, but fine.
ReplyDeleteI think the narrow black belt would have looked great with yesterday’s dress, along with a black shrug instead of blazer.
After listening to the "Pod save the Queen"-podcast, I´m much more "sympathetic" to Meghan´s choice yesterday. If what they say on the podcast is true, London heat caught everybody by surprise - they think it was more like a last-minute choice of "Oh dear, it´s suddenly SO hot - all plans be changed, please!!".
ReplyDeleteI can´t say too much about today´s dress, yet, but the dress seems to be understated with a twist (or two ;-))) ).
Can´t wait for more!
Stunning!!! I must have that entire outfit :)
ReplyDeleteMe too. 😍
DeleteAnd it's even somewhat affordable so a real possibility of being able to actually buy it!
DeleteTHE BAG!!!!!! I love it. Her bag game is totally on point.
DeleteThis is a fabulous outfit that flatters her beautifully. The dress is somewhat sculptural with the neckline and shoulders, and the artfully messy hair compliments it well. I love the shoes, and I adore that bag. Beautifully put together.
Gorgeous.
It's on sale less $75.00
DeleteAbsolutely Loooooove!!!! So cute the way Meghan delicately nudged Harry to go in front of her to greet the Hosts! That's Our Girl!! :) xo
ReplyDeleteYes. She's a strong woman but knows when to defer to her man. Beautiful relationship. I bet Harry loved having his partner with him tonight. Makes me want to get dressed up & go out with my hubby😀
DeleteYes! I'm just so happy for him!!! Well, happy for them both!! lol :)
DeleteI saw that! I was glad Meghan let him go first this time, since the comments I'd read absolutely tore her apart for stepping in front of Harry to shake hands with a teenager at the Youth Forum. I wonder if one of the PR team said something to her?
Delete🌸 Yep. Apparently they did, Becca H,
Deleteas she was very adamant not to do that again because the man leading her into the room was very clearly prodding her to proceed and she backed off to acknowledge and follow protocol this time.
I did notice that the first lady in line did curtsy to
Meghan. That must be such a strange feeling to have someone curtsy to you. My family just will not do it, lol. I do not know why. 🤔
Maybe they said something to Harry too, why should this fall on Meghan, many times he does the ladies first when greeting delegates.
DeleteYes Isabella and Becca, she had a lovely gesture to make Harry pass first, but he did’ return the gesture as we can see him introducing Meghan to the person he is talking with ! She definitely is at ease with people , and I think’it Is one of the reasons she already is’ includedd in official celebrations . She and Harry have definitely a rare way of beeing driven to people and sincerely show interest , not that William and Katherine do not, but it is quite different , they express more down to earth feelings , like the northern countries royal do . They might be the persons who could make the protocole evolve and become simpler .....
DeletePERFECTION!!! Sorry for the caps, but damn Meghan is pure perfection in my eyes with this outfit. THIS is what I’ve been waiting for - sleek, stylish, pulled together, dress fitting perfectly, modern. I love everything about her look here.
ReplyDeleteExcuse me while I wipe the drool from my chin lol. And Harry? Oh right, Harry’s there too. Hee
lol lol lol lol!!!!! ITK I'm actually laughing out loud!!!! Love how Harry's now "the add on"! Poor Guy is always the extra wheel!! lol lol :) xoxo
Delete🌸 yep, lol. At least he has experience for his new old position. :)
DeleteHa! Touche SG!! :)
DeleteNow this is an awesome outfit for Meghan. She looks truly beautiful and I'm sure Harry is proud as punch. A tremendous evening for both of them. Love her look. Go Meghan.
ReplyDeleteI love the dress and the entire outfit. Meghan looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI know they are so excited (so am I!) that the wedding is in exactly ONE month!!!
Fabulous look all together. And no messy bun. I loooovvveeee all of it!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteThe favorite expression in the media is "stunning" but I think it's deserved this time! Can't wait to see closeup of earrings on her. Thank you for showing this; the RF knows they have a treasure here.
She's Absolutely Stunning!! Absolutely A Treasure!!! :) xo
DeleteDress = Big Win
ReplyDeleteShoes = Uber Win
Clutch = Very Cool Win
Earrings = Win
Hair = Win-ish..... waiting to see back of bun *wink wink* :) xo
Haha about the bun! ;-) I think it's a win! And I'm just so excited to see Meghan's shoes every time. I adore Kate but am getting suede heels fatigue ;-)
DeleteThe blonde model wearing this dress has an incredibly messy bun, worse than MM ever wore, so I think she wins there too! Finally. And I'm so glad nearly everyone loves it.
DeleteHa!! Touche! lol lol :) For me, I'm getting "Messy Bun" Fatigue! lol :) I'm just itching to jump through the photos with a spritz of hair spray, slick down the strays & pop a few more pins in to keep it tidy!! lol :) I Loooove the way her hair is framing her face, it's just the popping out "whispy whispies"!! Driving me bats! lol :) She's Perfection - my itch! *wink wink*
DeleteLOL I hear ya, Becca! As lovely as she always looks, I do find myself wanting to reach thru the screen sometimes to pin them in place! ;-)
DeleteShe looks fabulous! This outfit is a win, for sure.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! Go Meghan!! Not only is this look utterly perfect, but the women's empowerment event is so important & to have Meghan bring her background & passion to it.....I'm thrilled!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love that she continues to wear black like a true city girl, like me. :)
ReplyDeletePerfection! I love the simplicity. Seeing how understated she continues to go with jewelry, I'm really curious to see what kind of jewels she'll wear on her wedding day.
ReplyDeleteTHIS is how you dress to your style but still appropriate to the occasion. Her best look yet. I’ll even pretend not to notice the messy bun. Lol
ReplyDeleteDress, shoes, clutch! Hat trick for her today!
Slay, Meghan, slay!
:) xo
DeleteYAAASSSS. This is what I think a lot of us have been waiting for. Meghan is gorgeous no matter what she wears, but each look prior to this seemed just slightly *off* in some way, almost like she hadn’t quite made the distinction about what look she was going for (understandable given this is a brand new role), but I’ve never questioned her sense of fashion, was just waiting for it all to come together in one phenomenal outfit. THIS IS THAT OUTFIT.
ReplyDeleteYes It Is!!!! Whooo! Hoooo! :)
Delete🌸 Agree with all you said, 19:33. :)
DeleteWhen I saw the early post, I thought, "is that the ever popular Jackie O Black Halo dress?" That is a very popular dress and been around a long time. This dress is a good example of what everyone should have in her closet. Great dress that you can dress up or down for that matter with cute wedges for a summer event.
ReplyDeleteAnother pair of great shoes and I really love her clutch.
I am sure Meghan found this Black Halo in the back of her closet. Absolutely perfect LBD. Everyone I know owns it and wears it to death. Fabulous
DeleteOMG YESSS!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove Meghan’s look but for the life of me I can’t ynderstand why Harry wears that awful blue. Get more modern Harry!
ReplyDeleteLol. Blue is modern and looks great with his skin and hair!
DeleteHe looks great in blue, but the brown brogues do not match his suit.
DeleteBlue and brown is also on trend. I love his look too. Agree to disagree? We can agree on the great event they are supporting? :)
DeleteMeghan looks great, that dress looks perfect on her. I am like Becca USA, waiting to see the back of the bun.
ReplyDeleteLorrr from US
Te He! :)
DeleteWhat a lovely dress! At first glance, the asymmetrical neck reminded me a bit of Kate's lavender Roksanda Illincic --- always a favorite of mine! Meghan has SUCH an enviable shoe collection. Such a wonderful week of events for her to participate in.
ReplyDeleteFinally -perfect, stylish dress, beautiful earrings and updo, smart clutch and killer sandals.Bravo,Meghan !
ReplyDeleteMeghan looks fantastic!! Black Halo is a brand that I have several dresses of ( when you buy them on sale they are quite affordable). They tend to be classic, solid colored sheaths and are well made and flattering to most body types. Wish she were going to the evening’s glittering affair - can’t wait to see her in formal gowns. Ah well, soon eneough. Hope these two remain as in love as they are now.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh! I am clapping my hands Yes!! Ballgowns & Tiaras Oh My!!! Can't Wait!! :)
Delete🌸 Since Meghan is a royal fiancé who has broken protocols, and established many new precedents already, perhaps she will wear a tiara with her ballgown. If she wants to she will I think. It would not surprise me. :) How, though is she ever going to top her engagement photo gown?
DeleteShe looks gorgeous. Does anyone think she may have altered the sleeves on the dress a bit. Looks like they were made a bit narrower so just a bit more shoulder showed and they looked a bit less boxy. Maybe just how the dress fit the model as compared to Meghan. Someone mentioned the Royal Jewelry. She wears such delicate pieces I think she will be very selective in what she wears. No idea how many delicate pieces are in the vault, so many of the pieces are big and heavy looking.
ReplyDeleteWill be interesting to see what she borrows considering the tax implications as a US citizen. The Wall Street Journal recently ran an article speaking to the problems of US citizens who marry foreigners. A total nightmare when Uncle Sam is watching. I am sure H&M advisors are on top of it.
DeleteI hope she sticks to the motto "less is more". A few carefully selected pieces are much more tasteful than tons of bling which is so old fashioned. She doesn't need the Saudi gifted million dollar necklaces. An occasional tasteful tiara on the appropriate occasion is fine, otherwise two or three items look much better.
Delete🌸 hhhmm. “Less is more” and The Royal Jewelry Box. “The Royal Bling Dilemma”, lol.
DeleteThat’s got to be a first. 😳
I agree though, Annette. For Meghan “less is more” pertaining to small jewelry pieces. That seems to fit her aesthetic better. Although “less is more” probably doesn’t apply as to the quantity of smaller pieces she’ll have. Me thinketh she is and will accumulate quite a wide selection.
(Sigh) All that historical, sparkly Royal bling to no avail. Queen Mary would faint. :)
🌸 LOVE, LOVE the entire outfit, dress, hair, shoes (wow), earrings. I would wear that outfit for sure. This is one of her best outfits so far. It fits her body type, frame and event.
ReplyDelete(The purse? I like the style and that it is velvet but don’t like the snaky ornamentIon.)
Love the wisps of hair on the side since she’s not doing a walk-about greeting people in windy weather.
I like the side wisps and the way they look just not on those walkabouts. Very casual/elegant hairstyle. I love it.
More new jewelry, shoes, purse and dress. About $4,000+ for this outfit. :) (where will she store these additions?) :)
I was just thinking before I saw your question which I echo. Where is her clothes and shoes closet. No way at their 2 bedroom unless convert the one bedroom. My guess and speculation there must be another place close by special for Meghan. I adore her simplistic style.
DeleteKatherine, bet they are using the 2nd bedroom as a closet.
DeleteI read that Camilla has had to store her clothes on racks in the upstairs hallways at Clarence House. Diana used to auction off clothing for charity - that is a good idea. Otherwise wear outfits more often and make it obvious that you are doing it because you want to be a good example.
DeleteI wouldn't be shocked if some of their office space is being used for her stuff right now since presumably after the wedding they'll get going on finding/transitioning to a more permanent home asap. They also have diana's old apartment for use and it's not like any of the trio has done a lot lately with hosting stuff in KP anyways so there's probably room in that renovated former diana apartment space for her things as well. Or wherever kate put her things before when still living in Nottingham.
DeleteThis is such a beautiful and classic dress. I hope she repeats it several times. She could get a lot of wear out of it if she chooses to.
Delete🌸 Setting a good example. Exactly, Annette. :)
DeleteAnd Diana’s old apartment sounds plausible, Maggie. I didn’t realize it is available. :)
08:28. And this dress is repeat worthy for sure. She could change it out with some red or yellow heels. :)
I do so very much hope she starts doing repeats sooner than later.
Surfer girl, she definitely has the classic pieces worthy of repeats. That Gorgeous tailored black suit for example. Think of the possibilities with shirts, shoes, and accessories!
DeleteThis is perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Head to toe! Chic, sexy and elegant.
ReplyDeletePerfection! Love every element.
ReplyDeleteTop to toe, this look works for the event, and Meghan is rocking it. Looking forward to learning more about this event and its aims.
ReplyDeleteShe looks GREAT !
ReplyDeleteWaaaay better than yesterday, love everything except the shoes, which I like, but don't love. Especially like the earrings!
ReplyDelete🌸 right, 20:52. Waaaaaay better. :) Quite a dichotomy.
DeleteI want to say thank you Charlotte for the gorgeous post,I adore this blog because it is not just about clothes and style, it also inform us about the activities of the princes and the charities they promote.
ReplyDeleteAmen! :)
DeleteAgreed!!!
DeleteEugenie, your words are spot on.
DeleteShe looks great and looking forward to the wedding.
ReplyDeletei like the dress, but, no, i don't love it - it's saggy and ill-fitting-looking in the bust area. and black is just so *safe*. though i do understand her wanting to play it safe.
ReplyDeletei really like the little swirlyesque earrings. i kind of wish her earring choice was longer, to emphasize her long neck. on the other hand, long earrings would have messed with the long tendrils of hair on either side of her face, which frames her face so prettily.
That's how the bust is supposed to look - it's almost like a cowl neck.
DeleteI love the phrase "The Commonwealth Couple"!! I think they will very likely become The Power Couple of our Age!! They will have more freedom & fluidity than Will & Kate. They will truly be a force for good! I see them supporting Will & Kate & Will & Kate supporting them! Diana planted the seeds & her legacy is continuing to grow & grow & grow!!! That's not even taking into consideration the amazing work that her grandchildren will be free to do! I firmly believe, that if something did happen to do away with the Monarchy, that William & Kate along with Harry & Meghan would Absolutely Still continue their Humanitarian Work!! Therefore establishing such a precedence for each couple's children!! So no matter what happens...... These Children & Grandchildren of Diana, will continue her Legacy of Humanitarian Work around The Globe!! Amen! :)
ReplyDeleteAMEN ! Becca , a big Amen
DeleteAmen indeed.
Delete🌸 I have no doubt that their humanitarian efforts would continue in full force. They are independently wealthy and so sustenance income is already available to them. They can focus on philanthropy. And, I agree that that work and legacy will continue with their children and so on.
DeleteDiana did define a newer way of giving and relating to those in need, although Dad and Granny, in their own way, are no slouches either. Quite a sweet legacy all the way around. :)
Oh SG, I Totally agree about Dad & Granny & PP!! Just happened to have Diana on the brain! :) xo
DeleteAre you kidding me?! This is GORGEOUS. Interesting, classic, and a twist of the modern at the same time. Her lipstick is beautiful with her skin tone, wish I knew what color and brand that was! Really unexpected earring choice, and I like them a lot.
ReplyDeleteI love it when a Royal wears something unexpected that makes me think 'hmmm...that actually works!' and inspires me to try it out myself. I've bought a few delicate, sparkly, smaller pieces (including some of her rings) totally based on her inspiration. Thanks, Meghan!
I love delicate jewelry, and it's also very on-trend right now. I love Meghan's aesthetic!
DeleteI adore those earrings! I want all of Meghan’s jewellery collection :)
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL. Simply just BEAUTIFUL.
ReplyDeleteI’m beyond excited to see what she can accomplish in her new role. She was made for this platform!
ReplyDeleteI love Black Halo; love Meghan; love Meghan in Black Halo. She’s sensational. I really need to look into adding those Altuzarra heels to my collection.
This is the look I have been waiting for. She looks amazing. I wouldn't change a thing.
ReplyDeleteKerrie from Indiana
Can’t wait to read more about the event when i have a little more time.
ReplyDeleteBut my first impression is: I think she’s nailed it today. I think today was the perfect blend of showing her own style but still looking like a soon-to-be-princess. Just lovely. And I would love to know what she uses for her beautiful complexion!
🌸 Jessica. She was photographed at the famous Sarah Chapman salon in London. My guess is Meghan has entrusted her skincare to Sarah and her products. Just a guess. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you! 😀
DeleteTo quote "Richard III"... Sort of..... "Oh, My Horse For"..... Some Hairspray & A Tidy Bun!! lol :) (Te!He!) xo
ReplyDeleteOh Becca, I know what you mean! When my sister and I were growing up, if we were going out to a gathering with my parents, we were taught that handling our hair while we were around other people was a “no-no.” (Admittedly, that was 60-some-odd years ago, and I think some of those rules have been relaxed over the years!) I love everything else about Meghan’s look today, and she has such a beautiful face and smile - that’s always what I see first!
DeleteI don’t know if this link will work, but I really like this style on Megan - I don’t know whether you can see that her hair is loose and hanging down a bit onto her back. Probably not great for a windy day, though! :) https://i.pinimg.com/564x/97/7f/b9/977fb9442e09a1f23a4fbb93fe0caf17.jpg
Delete🌸 “Commonwealth Couple”. I think that will stick. :)
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see Boris there “all in”. Every Initiative vibrant and spot on. Certainly a far cry from “burn your bra” and “hate all men”. Thank God. 😊 Very, very encouraging and refreshing. Kudos to all involved.
Ms Markle dressed appropriately for this occasion which was a different style from meeting with “youth”. She hasn’t lost her style sense but perhaps we should lighten up a bit on our critiques. This is simply my empathy talking. I doubt seriously if some of us could stand up under some of the hits Ms Markle took yesterday. I was glad to see Prince Harry and Ms Markle enjoying themselves and being greeted so warmly by those in attendance at the Women’s Empowerment Reception. Thank you, Charlotte for the most interesting info posted. Enjoying these forum segments immensely.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Totally sharp and put together.
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes! Perfection ❤
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes! “Leave no girl behind”. Eradicate illiteracy in 3rd World Countries (Commonwealth) among females is such a worth cause. A lot of work but I applaud the vision and the compassion of people like Prince Harry and Ms Markle who want to see positive changes for all people regardless of ethnicity. Thank you, Charlotte for posting the statistics on illiteracy among females in these areas. Something definitely needs to be done to bring change. 🙏🏽👏🏽
ReplyDeleteThe statistics are truly appalling! I too applaud the dedication of all those who work so tirelessly to help improve the lives of others. I hope that by learning about issues such as illiteracy, it will inspire others to not only help but to be grateful for the "rights" that we might take for granted but that others unfortunately lack. I know it's certainly inspiring me.
DeleteLiteracy also dovetails beautifully with the women's charity in India helping women with menstrual products and the stigma surrounding menstruation. Some girls don't go to school because of it. So I think it's great to see the tie ins!
DeleteThese pictures are fantastic! Ahhhh.....redemption! She hit it out of the park today in every way. I may have preferred a "non-black" clutch for a pop of color -- maybe cream or yellow or zebra even -- but all around they both look incredible. And a terrific event!!
ReplyDeleteOmg I am in love with this look. Elegant, stylish, would totally wear this outfit myself, messy bun and all. (I like Meghan have thick black hair that tends to go "messy" no matter how much hairspray or gel I wear so I've just embraced the messy bun look.)
ReplyDeleteONLY thing I would change: the double straps on the shoes look slightly fussy. But considering how tiny Meghan's ankles are I can totally understand her favoring this type of shoe over the traditional pumps.
I'm just Really Really waiting for her to Rock some of the Amazing updos she sported on the Red Carpet Events!! :)
DeleteMeghan looks fantastic. I need those shoes! NLopez
ReplyDeletePitch perfect!
ReplyDelete🌸 Pam from Boston. Any news? 😊
ReplyDeleteOh yeah....... YO! PAM! WHAT'S HAPPENING?? SEEING ANYTHING GOOD WITH ALL THE CHOGM FOLKS HANGING AROUND?? DO TELL!! HAVE A SPOT OF TEA FOR ME OK???
Deletelol lol lol (Sorry Pam, Couldn't resist!) Hope you're continuing to have a lovely time! Now don't go listening to SG when she says that you can't take me anywhere!!! :) (eye roll)
Becca USA :)
🌸 :)
DeleteWow, Charlotte you are so good!! I had just read elsewhere what Elton John and Priyanka Chopra had stated or written. And to think you added to your post appropriately given the subject. They so gave us exactly what is true about Harry and Meghan. We pretty much know that about Harry. Priyanka gave us such a beautiful glimpse of Meghan from her perspective as a good friend. It was very well written. Thank you Charlotte for sharing on your forever in one place blog.
ReplyDeleteKatharine, wasn't it just so lovely to read what Priyanka said about her dear friend Meghan? Especially after all the garbage that's been printed by Meghan's "so called" "past friends". The continued line about how Meghan has a pattern of ditching friends & moving on..... I always want to scream.... "Maybe there's a reason she moved on from this person??" To me the fact that a person talks & tells details of a friendship to the press..... that's a pretty universal clue that this is not a friend that Anyone wouldn't move on from! Right?? So to hear from her dear & well respected girlfriend was Wonderful! I think it will also be so nice to see her amazing group of friends, some going back to College & before, in the Chapel to be there for Meghan & of course Harry, on their Big Day!!! You can't be someone who "has a patterned of relentlessly cutting people out of your life & then still have a huge long list of friends going back many years!! That says it all to me! So yes, I loved seeing both the pieces in the magazine about both Meghan & Harry! :) xo
DeleteI so agree Katherine and Becca! If I never see another article featuring Meghan's brother or sister, that'll be fine with me.
DeleteHa! Lauri, that goes for me too & also that includes anyone else who keeps crawling out from under rocks & scurrying to the press! Yuk! :(
DeleteExactly, Becca!! Right on!!!! Thank you.
DeleteI agree Lauri. Thank you. Her siblings are.... well they just are. I sure understand not getting an invite.
DeleteI think she looks quite lovely - best yet but I think she would have looked amazing in the blue 3/4 sleeve version.
ReplyDeleteYAS queen! This look is so on point! Polished, chic, event-appropriate — and her bun is elegant, too. Meghan really shines, not least of all at this event. This is probably my favorite look of hers, also.
ReplyDeleteWill we get a gown at the Saturday event? I don’t remember seeing if it was a formal occasion or not. I really want to see Meghan in a full-on gown, now!
Me too! :)
DeleteFantastic look! I agree, her best ever.
ReplyDeleteJust echoing everyone here to say how beautiful Meghan looks. Chic, modern, simple, with such beautiful shoes and that pink lip! And those squiggly earrings! Her style is pretty minimalist - not for me personally - but this shows how it really works for her. Though I continue to hope she plays more as her role evolves and she becomes a full fledged royal - but that’s a selfish desire to see more elaborate clothes!
ReplyDeleteI think we’ll see something similar for her wedding day - simple and clean with an interesting neck line or texture. Although the dress in the engagement photos was pretty frilly, so maybe she’ll surprise us! I hope she does wear a tiara though, both because I wanna see it and because I think it will mean a lot to all the girls who identify with Meghan to see her as a true princess.
Love, love, love that she is focusing on women’s empowerment. I think she’ll be a huge voice here when the time is right for her. And love her and Harry as The Commonwealth Couple. A great way to carve out their own niche that also supports W&K.
I love that H&M are finding their niche within the Firm. Women's issues and issues surrounding wounded service people are so very important. I'm glad that those affected by these issues will have H&M in their corner, using their presence and their voices to raise awareness.
DeleteI second your demand that Meghan wear a tiara on her wedding day! I would be shattered if she didn't! Well, maybe not shattered but very, very bummed :)
Juliana & Lauri, Absolutely love what you both said! :)
DeleteWe agree on the important things - they issues they’re championing and the necessity of tiaras!!
DeleteMaking demands for tiaras?!? Haha. I want her to wear one too but I won’t demad it. Lol. Or, I would love also one of those elaborate almost-hat-looking veils. Or is it a veil attached to those lace, whole head hats? You know the ones I mean? They’re very dramatic and might not be popular on here. Now that I’ve written all this I don’t know if it’s too over the top for her style. It is classic though. I can’t wait to see what she chooses!
Delete🌸 No Tiara? 😳 That’s unthinkable.
DeleteWindsor Castle, marrying a British Monarchy Prince/Senior Royal, a Royal carriage ride around the town and up The Long Walk, the world watching a future Duchess?
ALL THAT demands a tiara, yeh?
Surely she’ll get it right. Surely. 👸🏻
I’d love a tiara too! But there is no “right” except inappropriate. If she is not flashing anybody and abiding by the church rules of dress (no idea what they are) then she has done it right. Then we can hash out our style preferences if we like. I really wonder how her clean style preferences will work with the pageantry if a royal wedding! Charlotte, will you do a tiara option review like last time? Also those hat veil things? Do you know the ones I mean? Thank you for this great blog!!
DeleteHello!
DeleteYes I did a tiara post back in January. So many possibilities for the big day :)
https://madaboutmeghan.blogspot.com/2018/01/royal-wedding-tiara-for-meghan.html
Thanks! I’ll go for a review! You are so great with building this (mostly- we do have some strong style opinions) positive place.
DeleteIt’s a highlight of my day when you make a new post.
That is unbelievably kind of you! This blog is a year old this month, I'm delighted people are enjoying it :)
DeleteSome tiaras showed up last night at the banquet. I thought Sophie looked particularly terrific. But I'm thinking that Meghan would not use any of those worn last night.
DeleteFantastic look and as usual, her shoes are giving my ankles sympathy pains, tho prolly not quite sympathy since she doesn't turn her ankles every ten seconds like I do esp it I ever wore shoes like hers lol!
ReplyDeleteBut most importantly, this is soo so so very important as a cause that needs even more work and attention. Boris Johnsons tweet is on the money - the inclusion of women into all arenas of life will help address all major problems that exist and need to be solved. Whether it is policymaking in an established government or peacekeeping in a transitioning, nascent democracy - women have vital input that needs to be heard and when ignored is a huge loss for us all. Aside from the obvious issues with stereotypes, the traditional view of women as too emotional & soft to be playing major roles in the "public sphere" is also silly bc we'd all be better off if toxic masculinity didn't drive everything from foreign policy to economic issues in this world, and the public/private divide is an arbitrarily constructed division that exists for the purpose of justifying exclusion of women and has no legitimate basis otherwise. There's also nothing wrong with things like emotion, or anything else typically associated with 'femininity'. Statistics are hugely on the side of inclusion of women being an immense net positive for the world.
Plus it's the right thing to do, regardless.
Maggie, you are cracking me up with your "ankles sympathy pains"! lol :) Meghan's ankles have no idea how lucky they are to have your caring sympathy! :) xo
DeleteWow, maggie. Very nicely said!
DeletePerfect! Right up there with her Alexander McQueen pants suit!
ReplyDeleteSo true. 👍
DeleteYes, that pants suit was spot on. She wore it well with her delicate and elegant body. Cannot wait to see her choice of very formal attire. I guarantee you will not see her in busy Erdeem gowns like Kate experimented with.. it is very nice that the two women are so different and each can be appreciated in their own way. I like Kate, she has done a fine job in her role, honestly hasn’t really ever taken a step wrong. Meghan’s confidence and charisma and American flare really is a modern jolt for the somewhat staid Royal Family.
DeleteWell said Anon 12:14! I really love how beautiful Kate & Meghan both are (both inside & out) & how distinctly different their styles are! They both are such treasures! :)
DeleteI will say, it always makes me nervous when western women (esp white women tho ofc Meghan is not white) interfere in regards to women's issues in other countries, esp when countries their own nation has colonized for centuries. White women are terrible for women of color in their own nations already, forget other countries. White liberal feminism in the US ended up becoming huge successful tool for Bush administration to justify war in Iraq. The problem is western women don't know/understand cultural norms of other countries and crucially, how that culture affects whether or not something is indeed the subjugation of women. For example, the west very broadly and without nuance tends to characterize the wearing of hijabs and other particular items of clothing by Muslim women to be a sign of oppression, ignoring that it is also about culture and that many Muslim women do have a choice and choose to embrace that culture and religion without being forced to.
ReplyDeleteFocusing on women's issues elsewhere also ends up often becoming a rallying cry for why western nations are better/the best, whether it's intentional or not on the part of those focusing on women's issues abroad. But it's why I'm not a huge fan of western women who will talk about women's issues abroad but not in their own country much or at all. Fix your own house before you preach to other countries is all I'm saying. Esp bc often focusing on the problems abroad is an easy way to look very charitable while avoiding controversy bc ppl around you will be much more offended if you point out problems in yalls own country instead of another.
So I hope Meghan shifts from doing something similar in past, for whatever reasons and towards domestic women's issues focus.
I am a woman from Africa and I am grateful for western womem leaders who have helped us in women empowerment. I will not begin to tell you some of the views that some societies have in Africa about a woman and the girl child. A lot of work is still needed, so from a woman of color to another woman of color, I am grateful to those who have paved the way and yes Meghan is welcome on board! We hope Harry will bring her on a official visit!
DeleteYou did not just say all that!
DeleteI appreciate learning about the general work that Harry and Meghan are involved in, but the Royal family have traditionally not engaged in politics. I know it can be a fine line to balance royal causes/charities with political leanings; but with all due respect, I believe according to Charlotte's guidelines, this site should not be used as a forum for political or propaganda based opinions. Thank you kindly Charlotte for letting me express my humble opinion.
DeleteI think that's an interesting opinion, English Rose. Maggie's comments about Bush/Iraq and western women fixing their own house before fixing someone else's could be taken as political statements. I can understand that; I guess I didn't because I tend to agree with her on them, but I can definitely see why some would not.
DeleteBut I do think there's a good point in there about people in the west not recognizing other countries' cultural norms. Hopefully, that will be taken into account in whatever they set out to do.
I agree 100% with you Maggie
DeleteTo be clear, my comment above was in response to Maggie's statement, not Anon 15:56's comment!
DeleteAlso Maggie, She Is White & She Is a Woman of Color! She Is Both!
Deletebluhare, thank you for proving my point. I respect your opinion, as I'm sure you would respect mine. Isn't that the ultimate test of "feminine impowerment?" But I must politely add that I do not invest my interest and time in this site to discuss politics, religion, etc. Charlotte, thank you for allowing me to post comments within the last year. I am not a blog commentor, but your site is very professional, educational and interesting. I will not post any other comments as I am disappointed as to the political and agenda based wrangling that commentators appear to believe fall within the purview of this site.
DeleteI will continue to read your posts but not commentary. There are many, many other formats for people to voice their political concerns. I believe that begs the question as to WHY commentators feel a need to inundate this respected and neutral blog with their beliefs, judgments and political leanings.
God Bless
OMGosh!!! The "No Girl Left Behind" Video just blew me away!! It's So Powerful & Emotional! I'm still choked up! Then looking at a photo of Harry & Meghan... it hit me.... The World Can Really Begin To Change, With Them...... "When a pebble is thrown into the unsuspecting water, it creates ripples & the ripples grow wider & spread out all around where the pebble dropped in." - Anonymous -
ReplyDeleteIt WAS wonderful to read Priyanka's words. Thinking more about the dysfunctional family members---the brother and sister hate each other. The brother says to not invite his sons, who took their mother's last name. The sister says to man up and invite everyone but she leaves out her daughters. The brother says he hasn't heard from MM since 2011, when they supposedly spent weekends together taking care of their grandmother and were close. Think he just answered the question of why no more contact. That closeness must have been something MM never wanted to revisit! MM has had a plan and a vision of something greater than family cookouts with the Markles since she was young, and I give her mom a lot of credit. I am so glad that the wedding guests will be only positive good people! (Hoping for the nieces and some of Doria's family, though.)
DeleteSo well done. I could totally nitpick and say that I wish she'd gone with a color rather than the black version, but really, the black is chic and her whole look is fab. She clearly likes black, and she wears it well.
ReplyDeleteI like the black version the best. In fact I do not really like the dress in the other colors.
DeleteShe Looks stunning as ever hmm from head to toe she lookd goos than yesterday I love Her friend wrote something about her thst wec dont know i love woman empowerment such as great Thing and great impact
ReplyDeleteOh what fun seeing them out & about! She must be done with her part of wedding planning. I can't imagine how she's doing it all. So happy for them!
ReplyDeleteApropos of nothing at all. I am fairly confident that Baria Allamuddin, Amal Clooney's mother, is in the top left photo in the group photos. Second from the right. Small world. And an interesting one.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, may I lift your phrase "Apropos of nothing at all" & use it? I feel it's the perfect insert for when I come up with a random thought or observation to share! lol :)
DeleteAnd there I thought everyone said this :-) Of course. :-)
Deleteit is a great thing to say! I found this uote:
Delete“Apropos of nothing at all except that it has been on my mind and I think I had better say it because it accounts for a good deal of my behaviour. There is a strong streak in me that wishes not to exist and really does not believe that I do, so that I tend to become unnerved when these curious ideas are proved to be not really true because someone (in this case you) has responded to something I have said or done just as if I were an actual person the same as you (especially) or anyone else. Some of it is, I guess, just the worst sorts of arrogance and irresponsibility , but not all of it, as I really don't think I exist a lot of the time, so I'm asking you to bear with it, me, whatever, for the sake of what?—friendship I suppose, which I want to be capable of, which is obviously not enough. More brains might help, but enough unseemly remarks for eight o'clock in the morning and the shivering in pyjama bottoms syndrome.”
― Edward Gorey, Floating Worlds: The Letters of Edward Gorey & Peter F. Neumeyer
Thanks Elizabeth! I absolutely love the quick whit of the phase & it's so self deprecating, in the most lovely & light hearted of ways! :)
DeleteLoved Meghan’s shoes today and yesterday!
ReplyDeleteI found 2 possible options for less expensive version of Meghan’s STRAPPY BLACK SHOES!

She looks beautiful and I love the dress. She looks beautiful in black, but I will say that I am secretly longing for some color. Her love of neutrals makes her seem a bit more predictable and she's so beautiful it seems like anything would look great on her.
ReplyDeleteMeghan looks gorgeous tonight. The dress, shoes and accessories are just beautiful and so elegant. Harry looks terrific too. Wonderful to see them.
ReplyDeleteThere you go - so much positive feedback for what Meghan wore here - and that´s what I thought about the last post: people are not here to "bash Meghan no matter what, find bad in everything" - no, they give credit where credit is due!!
ReplyDeleteThis dress was fantastic, and looked simply spot on. The day before - well the overwhelming majority thought it was a miss. And why not? That doesn´t mean most of us thought it was a miss BECAUSE "she is....." (insert bi-racial, an ex-actress, etc etc) at all!! It was simply because of that dress, and that was it...
And I´m very glad that´s all it was! ;-)))
What Elton John said about Harry: "Prince Harry has that rare ability to walk into a room full of strangers and make everyone feel comfortable and at ease" IS EXACTLY what people said about his mother....I had that feeling from the beginning: Harry and Meghan have the potential to make a real difference. Our planet needs this kind of people so badly.... Go, Meghan and Harry, GO FOR IT!!
🌸 exactly, Eve. We do give credit where credit is due. We critique her outfits.
DeleteCan I Have An Amen?? :)
DeleteMeghan has been targeted at other websites for those reasons(bi-racial, ex- actress)
Deleteyou mentioned and I believe some found their way to this website just by the sheer volume. There were many constructive comments but there were some that I felt were not nice. But that's just my opinion.
🌸 Amen
Deletemeghan was just beautiful
ReplyDeleteShe's definitely a shoes and bags gal, and that makes her inherently stylish, in my opinion. That black and white bag on Wednesday, the shoes and Thursday's Gucci ... I'm lost for words.
ReplyDeleteI like her style!
Heidi
I know! My word is I'm "Obsessed"! lol :)
DeleteThis whole look is sophisticated in it's simplicity. Simple black dress, shoes and clutch, and yet Meghan herself, with her posture and stance, gives it the wow factor.
ReplyDeleteLoving that they're being called the 'Commonwealth Couple'. Hopefully having attended the meetings and receptions during CHOG week, Meghan will now have an idea on how she'll 'champion up' her chosen causes here in the UK and within the Commonwealth. Some really exciting times ahead for H&M me thinks :-)
Love the dress, omg those heels, my highest heels are about 2inches and I can barely make 2 hours with them. Props to Meghan and Kate for wearing heels every day
ReplyDeleteShe looks stunning as always! I am Italian and I am so proud she is wearing Gucci clutch! Hello to everybody and sorry for my English! I really love this blog and DKB blog too!
ReplyDeleteHi Dolphin, loved your comment & your english is lovely! :)
Delete🌸 welcome Dolphin. And, yes, your English is lovely. :)
DeleteI'm constantly struck by how completely both Meghan and Harry pay attention to the person or people they're talking to. Both of them have a laser focus! I'm sure that having a conversation with either of them would be very rewarding, just knowing that whatever you're saying, inane as it may be, is getting 95% of their attention -- there's always at least 5% reserved for their mutual adoration!
ReplyDelete🌸 has your puppy met Julia’s Pippin? what is your puppies name, if you don’t mind my asking. :)
DeleteE&L, it really is quite striking! It's been said often, by people who have met them together or alone (prior to their engagement) that when you would talk to either of them, you felt like you were the only person in the room that they were focused on! That's a rare gift, & incredible that they both innately share it! :)
DeleteIt is a rare gift to not allow oneself to be distracted by other people in room. It’s really hard not to look around if person speaking to you does not truly hold your interest. I know it is basic good manners , but as we are all human, it is not always easy.
DeleteYes, Meghan used to look at the cameras much more but they are trained as royals to look at the person they are speaking to and ignore action around them.
DeleteThere are new names in all the threads on this blog, and the comments add up fast! I hope everyone is finding the Load More button when the comments accumulate too quickly for a reminder. Click it when the they reach 200 and each time there are 50 more.
ReplyDeleteMeghan looked lovely, and she kept her outfit largely uncluttered. I would pin the stray locks back and worry a bit about the possibility of tripping over the ties on the shoes. But those are quibbles. I wish Meghan had been at the Queen’s dinner, but her participation in the CHOGM events has been carefully thought out, and this one was terribly important. Good for Boris Johnson. I can’t comb his hair, but I can be glad he supports such a drastically needed effort. We know that society flourishes when women are full participants, and education is the key to success for a people as well as for individual people. This must become a major effort for the Commonwealth and for every
progressive institution everywhere.
Thanks Patricia I, for making the point about hitting the "Load More" link! It's so exciting to have so many new people joining in to enjoy the fun & function of Charlotte's Blogs! :) I also appreciated everything else that you said.
DeleteAs much as Meghan Hit it out of the park, I am still of the camp that feels that for this level of event...... actually at any event where she is representing The Queen, I think it should call for the same polished updo, that she saved for Red Carpet & Other Events where she was Promoting "Suits". Surely in her new Royal Role, it's at least as important, if not more, than promoting a show! I know it's On Trend & yes her hair last night was more tidy than the model in the dress photos..... But it's my opinion that in these new circumstances, when she is representing The Queen, she needs to have a polished updo if she chooses to wear one. Some have said that she can't due that with her hair, etc. I would guide anyone who thinks that, to go look at pics of her wearing her hair very sleekly put into gorgeous updos at Hollywood & Promotion Events for suits! I know this is "an on trend style". I know this is "Meghan's Style". But since she was able to sport a sleek, polished updo for her previous job?...... I think it's only right that she put this same effort into her "New Royal Job". This double standard of it being ok to expect she be polished with her updos for her old job, but not her new?? Just is really getting under my skin. My skin, my problem, but I just really wanted to share & explain my opinion! Thanks for reading :)
I think the hair issue whether sleek, messy bun, updo or any other style will always be an issue. My opinion is for the evening affair she was presentable, maybe in the future she will do a sleek look as she evolves in the role but it seems for now this is how she prefers to look. Maybe if she gets an order from Her Majesty herself to go sleek, and I think so far Her Maj is liking her look otherwise they would not be giving her so many engagements and "showing" her off which I think they are- and I mean this in a positive manner. I think right now we should wait and see about her fashion style and hair, it's only 4 months and she is not even married yet.
DeleteMeghan looked gorgeous. Love the classic silhouette of the dress with a modern twist. Love the clutch and shoes (although there’s no way I can wear those high heels). She’s really sticking to her minamalist style. Makes me wonder more what she’s going look like on May 19th. So excited and cannot wait!
DeleteHair and make-up are just perfect as well. I understand how you feel about the hair. Maybe she does her own hair and make-up now and a bun is the only style she can do herself? Maybe during her acting years, red carpet event, she had them done by a professional?
Celeste
Yes Anon 20:47, I too loved everything to bits! Loved the way her hair framed her face & it's just a personal preference about the bun being more tidy at these types of events. No biggie, just my little 'ol pref! lol :) So now that I've shared my personal pref, I won't be saying another bit about it! lol :)
DeleteI was wondering why MM was not at the banquet. Might it be because Kate couldn't go? I assume that she can go next year.
ReplyDeleteI do not think it was anything to do with Kate, maybe they just strategically placed her in events considering she is not yet a royal. Kate would have gone if not on leave and Meghan would not have gone if that was the plan.
DeleteI am not a fan of polished hair, probably because my hair was my favorite feature and it was really thick and had a natural curl. I can see that MM may have felt she had to style her hair a certain way for her career but now she can look he way she wants to look and not get fired. You're right that she can do something to be less wispy, so we have to assume that she doesn't want to, that she really doesn't want to. Have to also assume that no one in the RF cares or cares enough to make it an issue. If Charles doesn't care, then she has clear sailing.
ReplyDeleteBecca---I am so used to her hair now that I would be a little disappointed in anything else. :) And there was a funny "article" that discussed what MM and Kate would look like if they exchange clothes. They photoshopped the ladies' heads onto the others' bodies and it was striking how out of place each looked.
Oh Allison, I bet that was so funny to see! :) I too have always had a thick head of naturally curly hair that has been the bane of my existence to care for & prep! My hubby has always loved it natural, but it has always driven me bats. It takes so long to style, but I must say, once styled, it holds like iron! lol :) I'm sure that lends itself to my preference for a less messy updo. But all the different preferences are what makes the world go round! :)
DeleteA home run!
ReplyDeleteFinally a look that I like. Unfortunately I am much more drawn to her Suits character wardrobe and am always not so fond of her own style. But this dress is gorgeous and she looks beautiful in it. I like hair, it is up but just messy enough to look youthful but not wild. Don’t like the shoes but I can overlook that. Big win in the fashion department for me!!!
ReplyDeleteC.
I just read a poll where there was a large percentage of people who disliked Ms Markle. More than a majority of them, I know, without a doubt, have never met her. So I sit perplexed, asking myself, ‘what has she done to them?’
ReplyDeleteThe black dress looks a lot better than many of the other outfits Meghan has worn that cost thousands of dollars. I think she overspends on her outfits in general.
ReplyDelete
