We had an unexpected appearance by the Sussexes when they appeared on Spotify's 'Stream On' event to share more about their plans for Archewell Audio. In the brief segment against the backdrop of "Electric Love" by Børns, Meghan said, "We're using podcasting to drive powerful conversations..." before Harry completed the sentence with "...that inspire, challenge and educate."
The Duchess continued, "We created Archewell Audio to make sure that we can elevate voices that maybe aren't being heard and hear people's stories."
Harry added, "And the biggest part of this is to create this community where you can share, that will encourage everybody else to then share their own vulnerabilities within that safe space."

It is not known when the piece was filmed, but I think quite possibly before Harry and Meghan announced their happy news about Baby Sussex. Last year, the Duke and Duchess signed a multi-year deal with the streamer. The first complete series will be released this year - the exact date is yet to be announced.
The virtual event featured a host of well-known names to discuss the power of audio creation as the streaming giant looks to the year ahead. The streamer added, "Spotify is the world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service with a community of 345 million Monthly Active Users and 155 million Premium Subscribers. With a presence in 93 markets, and more than 70 million tracks including over 2 million podcast titles, it has transformed the way people access and enjoy music and podcasts."
'It touted plans to significantly expand access to its service’s global footprint, saying that, over the next few days, it will expand to new markets that will allow it to reach more than a billion people worldwide, nearly half of whom are already using the internet. In total, Spotify says it’s expanding to 85 new worldwide markets, across Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe and Latin America.
On the podcasts side, Spotify referenced its newer morning show, “The Get Up,” and a new multi-year content deal with AGBO, the Russo Brothers entertainment company; plus a deal with Ava DuVernay for an unscripted podcast; and a new podcast “Tell Them I Am,” from its Higher Ground partnership, which will collect narratives from Muslim voices. And it noted Warner Bros. and DC will roll out a slate of narrative-scripted podcasts.
On its podcast creation app, Anchor, Spotify said it’s partnering with WordPress to turn text into audio, add video to their podcasts and access new interactive features like polls and Q&As in order to add real-time communication with fans to their shows.'
For those who enjoy a good podcast, I was very excited to hear former President Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen have teamed up to host a new series encompassing myriad topics from fatherhood, masculinity, race and their own personal and professional journeys.
The Duchess looked radiant in Oscar de la Renta (with thanks to the amazing What Meghan Wore team for their swift ID).
The Citrus Primavera Peplum Hem Dress is described: "A signature lemon motif adds a Botticelli-inspired quality to this glamorous 60s-inspired shift. A dramatic flounce hem adds the perfect finish." The dress features a round neck, flounce hem and back zip. It's available at Saks Fifth Avenue retailing for £2,645.
A closer look at the lemon and leaf motif.
The aqua multi print is prominent across the current collection. Below, the Jacquard Dress and Silk Midi Day Dress. If searching for alternatives, lemon print dress are everywhere from Etsy and Nordstrom to Zulily.
It appears Meghan accessorised with her gold Cartier Tank watch, which is believed to have belonged to the late Princess Diana. Meghan's been wearing the piece with some frequency for almost a year.
Meghan adores the classic watch and already owned the tank in silver and two-tone, purchasing the latter for a special reason. Meghan told Hello! Canada, "I've always coveted the Cartier French Tank watch. When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season – which, at the time, felt like such a milestone – I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version. I had it engraved on the back, "To M. M. from M. M." and I plan to give it to my daughter one day (this feels especially important to mention as the Duchess is expecting). That's what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them." In an interview with Vogue, Meghan added she "had longed for the watch" since she was fifteen.
Meghan also wore her Ecksand ruby ring.
If you're just popping in, it was announced last night Harry and Meghan made an important donation to Genesis Women's Shelter in Dallas following a devastating storm which has left untold damage in Texas. Genesis CEO Jan Langbein told Dallas News, "The gift from Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, is literally going to put a roof back over the heads of the moms and children of Genesis. The thought of the literal meaning of that, and then the figurative meaning of that — that they care enough to put a roof over the heads of people who have none — just warms my heart." Meghan and Harry both look sun kissed, healthy and happy. As before carrying a child suits
ReplyDeleteMeghan well. The femininity of Oscar de la Renta coupled with Harry's crisp white shirt is
absolutely spot on.
He looks appealing, and she looks in love.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress! Meghan's face looks fuller, like it did near the end of her pregnancy with Archie - I wonder how far along she is/boy or girl? :)
ReplyDelete-op
It's such a treat to enjoy Meghan's fashion -- I love this little dress! I love how some of the leaves "leave" the dress around the neckline. Just adorable. And she has a new ring on her right hand.
ReplyDeleteI also love the leaf detail around the neckline; it’s such a pretty dress!
DeleteI am not sure it's a new ring, op.
DeleteI love the playfulness of the lemon print. Gives me hope for warm weather (maybe someday!).
ReplyDeleteExcited to hear more from Archewell Audio. And I think Oscar de la Renta is quickly becoming my favorite designer on Meghan.
ReplyDeleteNow that Meghan is not officially a working member of the royal family, I wonder if she is able to accept gifts from designers who would want her to wear their clothes, as there could be no greater add for them than Meghan.

How lovely to talk about fashion! I think it's a charming dress- and it makes Meghan look so beautifully girlish!
ReplyDeleteThis dress has a beautiful spring vibe. I liked the oscar de la renta dress she wore on a very wintry day during her first pregnancy also very much and of course the black and white she wore in Australia. They bring out her playful side.
ReplyDeleteTrue lovers..beautiful and shining couple. I love them.
ReplyDeleteThis is my observation also Anon15.
ReplyDeleteWe cannot thank you enough for your work Charlotte; I am always so looking forward to reading a new article on the Sussexes and more on this blog.
On the fashion side, Meghan's dress is beautiful, expensive certainly, but overall a dress simple, beautiful, fresh and so feminine.
I love seeing those two and I have to admit I miss seeing them during their visits. I'm happy they have peace of mind though, that's priceless
ReplyDeleteYes, the dress is beautiful (but a bit too expensive for me!) Meghan looks very well. I read that the baby is due in June so she must be about five months along? My only criticism is that I think her hair needs a good cut and style. The overly long ungroomed look is a bit too flower child for my taste,( but maybe visits to a hairdresser are too difficult in the lockdown?) I think once you are past 35 a more sophisticated updo or shorter smoother styles are much more flattering.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of unmerited criticism would be leveled her way for a new hair style during the pandemic, especially in California where salons are just starting to re-open. I also happen to love long hair on people of all ages so I admit my preference is showing, too. :)
Deletebeautiful ring; thanks so much for showing it!
ReplyDeleteI also cannot afford the lovely dress (and my cats would shred it in a day), but it makes one perhaps wants lemons! I had seen a lovely blouse that was white with lemons for about $40, and there are so many lemon patterns! I also like the simple flouncy dress idea -- very California, I guess?
ReplyDeleteshe looks great! thanks for sharing this Charlotte!
