Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have shared a video of wedding memories and behind the scenes moments for their first anniversary. “This Little Light of Mine” plays in the background of the Instagram clip — the song they chose for their recessional💞 pic.twitter.com/YrvlmHFLEC— Omid Scobie (@scobie) May 19, 2019
In a message on Sussex Royal, the couple said: "Thank you for all of the love and support from so many of you around the world. Each of you made this day even more meaningful." The post added: "We hope you enjoy reliving this moment, and seeing some behind the scenes photos from this special day."
The excitement in the months leading up to the wedding was unforgettable for royal watchers. This time last year, I was enjoying writing the Live Blog and eagerly awaiting Meghan's arrival with Doria. I absolutely love this photo - mother and daughter taking a moment to take it all in. Meghan looks incredibly happy. Twelve months later Doria is by Meghan's side again - during the first weeks of motherhood.
Meghan is handed her bouquet.
Groom Harry and Best Man William heading down the stairs.
Prince Charles takes Meghan to her Prince. I know many of us felt this was one of the most emotional moments during the wedding. A documentary by Gayle King aired on CBS Friday night, I haven't seen it yet, but I did view a teaser clip featuring an interview with Meghan's close friend Daniel Martin. He said when Charles took Meghan's arm there was a feeling among her closest friends "She's home". My sentiments exactly.

Harry takes a private moment.
A peek inside the official portraits. Princess Charlotte and Zalie Warren spotted photographer Chris Allerton and looked in his direction instead of ahead for the official shots :)
Relive the entire wedding by watching it below.
Wishing Harry and Meghan a very happy first anniversary. They are spending the day with their little bundle of joy Archie.
Speaking of Baby Archie, family and friends including William and Kate and Prince Charles have visited Frogmore to meet him over the past week. On Friday, the Duke and Duchess officially registered birth details for their son. As reported by Rebecca English, Archie was born at the Portland Hospital. It lists Frogmore Cottage as their address, and Meghan's occupation as Princess of the United Kingdom.
Hope you're all having a great weekend!
What a beautiful way to feature Harry and Meghan's 1st wedding Anniversary. These picture are stunning. Thank you Charlotte for posting it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this wonderful clip of memories.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary Harry and Meghan!! May happiness and love be with you, all the days of your life together!
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice of Harry and Meghan to share these beautiful personal photos with us. I love them all, but especially the one of Meghan taking Prince Charles's arm and the one of Harry and William going down the stairs- that one seems so normal, like it could almost be in anyone's wedding album.
ReplyDeleteA very happy anniversary to Harry and Meghan! And to many more.
Happy anniversary to the Duke and Duchess. What a splendid day it was and what an eventful year.
ReplyDeleteI have always wished that the Cambridges would celebrate their wedding anniversaries by releasing a behind the scene photo of their wedding, but they have yet to comply. I am very happy to see that the Sussexes seem to play along with my wishes. 😉
Thanks for sharing. I love this. I’m also glad that they used the music from the recessional, again. I always thought that the beauty of the music got lost a little at the end, when they were leaving the church.
ReplyDeleteThis day will always be memorable to me because it’s my birthday! It was so fun to celebrate my birthday last year with a royal wedding! What a lovely look into their day.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Penny! How lovely that you share this special days with Harry and Meghan! 💐
DeleteMeghan and Harry have definitely their own way .... a lovely and very caring one ! This song is one of my favorite , although I do not believe in god , I do believe that any of us can make a light shine in any way we choose , the most important beeing to share this light around .... and they do !
ReplyDeleteI hope the BRF is proud of them, they make things and minds move onward , modernism with a heart ....
It’s their anniversary, and they’ve given us the gift! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are so amazing. They capture the joy and the love of that day perfectly. I love how happy Meghan looks—particularly in the photo of her with Ms. Doria (who manages to exude a regal air even with her back to the camera...she is EVERYTHING ❤️). The photo of Harry standing by the window is so bittersweet and peaceful. There’s an old fashioned look to it (like a Civil War-era tintype) that I love, and the lighting is so perfect. Then we get his cheesy grin as he descends the staircase! He looked like a little boy!
I’ll stop gushing now. Thanks for the beautiful post, Charlotte. Almost 8 years in, and you are still churning out material that blows everyone away!

Hey fellow Minnesotan!
DeleteThank you so much for the post, Charlotte! I'm so glad H+M have released this. My favourite photo is the mother&daughter one.
ReplyDeleteI got quite emotional watching the video, don't know why exactly - perhaps I realised more strongly what a path they have walked within that 1 year. God bless them!
Wow I love these behind the scenes photographs! I love the one with William and Harry. With all the press talk about there being a rift is this the "royal" way of challenging that? By reminding everyone that they might argue as all families do but they are brothers who love each other?
ReplyDeleteI also love the photo of Meghan and Harry with her bridesmaids because it looks so casual. Charlotte is just sitting there as any child might be at a wedding. Beautiful pictures and happy anniversary!
Wow!! It's a celebration of riches!! First Archie & today the anniversary!! What a year it's been! Such love, appreciation & blessings to this wonderful couple... family!! :) xx
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, and so emotional.
ReplyDeleteFeels like yesterday..can't believe it's been a year already. Happy anniversary to this beautiful couple! Wishing them a lifetime of happiness together and a whole bunch of adorable little ones to celebrate with in future years, for now though baby Archie is more than enough, may God bless him and protect him.
ReplyDeleteI miss the wedding. One of my several favorite images is of Jessica's two boys entering the church, with Meghan looking beautiful and regal. Also love the bride's side of guests laughing when they hear the cheers from outside, which the groom's side remains stoic. And the way the light shines through the building and through her veil.
ReplyDeleteThese photos hit home that none of this would have occurred if Meghan did not have total and enthusiastic approval of the family into which she was marrying. Brother included. The family did so much to make her feel welcome. She obviously felt welcome or her friend would not have referred to it as "home."
How beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHow good are they to give us this treat. The emotion of the photographs simply touch your heart.
ReplyDeleteI love the way the Sussexes do things! This is a wonderful treat for us. I loved the picture of Meghan meeting Harry at the altar and demurely looking down as he showered her with compliments!
ReplyDeleteIs anyone else shocked that Harry and Meghan were able to go to hospital and return without anybody getting pictures? That just amazes me. Maybe the press is learning to give them a little privacy. I hope so.
The Cambridges have managed 3 times now despite the press knowing in advance where kate would be giving birth so I'm not too surprised I think.
DeleteIt is not entirely true Anon. I can't remember with which baby but Kate was photographed entering the hospital but out of respect the photographer did not sell those pictures. With the other 2, they were more private.

DeleteWhere would the photos of William and Harry have been taken?
ReplyDeleteI'd say that they were taken at the hotel where the Groom and Best Man stayed the night before the wedding.
DeleteI thought I had commented on the Mother’s Day post but it appears that I didn’t. It seems appropriate to share my thoughts from that one on this one because I 110% stand behind my initial thought that Meghan has a hand in their social media. I’m more convinced than ever with the Mother’s Day post and now sharing never before seen wedding photos. I truly believe this is personally driven by Meghan and Harry.
ReplyDeleteI love that their Instagram feels personal, you don’t always get that and it’s a joy for me to feel like we’re a part of their story. I see them being very similar to Prince Carl Phillip and Princess Sofia of Sweden who regularly post to their Instagram accounts using I or We. I think the further from the crown they are - the more freedom they feel to share of themselves. It’s a feeling to me of just enough but not too much.
I think Meghan and Harry are finding their footing now that they are settling into their new home and life as a family of 3. I don’t think Meghan will take too long of a maternity leave and I hope we will see baby Archie again soon.
Happy anniversary to this happy couple who make happiness around them in ever-extending ripples.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte, this a very lovely post. I’m enjoying the black and white shots. Very emotional pics. Happy Anniversary to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
ReplyDeletehappy wedding anniversary to the duke and duchess of sussex now their family of three we hope they will bring each other happiness and love together with lil prince arche
ReplyDeleteSo kind of them to share these photos with us. What a year it’s been. Harry and William on the stairs, wonderful. The way Diana’s little boy grew up to give his heart away, and the blissful look on his face! Meghan was a vision of grace and dignity. They will help Charles and William take the monarchy forward. Bless them both, and their son.
ReplyDeleteThese are such beautiful, intimate photos. I feel like you get to see a little of their relationship in them. I definitely think Meghan at least helps out with their instagram page. They're so in love! It's wonderful to see! I hope they had a wonderful anniversary! I can't wait to see what amazing things they do together in the future! With welcoming little Archie being such a forever high-point in their lives! Thank you for the post, Charlotte!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of them on the stairs and the one of harry alone. such a more intimate look. I also feel that they have a large part in the Instagram account. I hope they are having a joyous day on their first anniversary!!
ReplyDeleteforgot to ask, who is the woman who handed Meghan her flowers? love these black and white shots!
ReplyDeleteTRUE LOVE! Congrats to them on their 1st wedding anniversary! I loved their instagram post. I am so happy for them and wish them the best and so much love and happiness in the years to come with their new little baby. Thanks for your hard work as always Charlotte
ReplyDeleteRead a little of a short interview with Harry's polo friend Nacho, with whom he is in rome for the Sentable polo match. Nacho said that he and his wife visited Archie and that Harry couldn't keep his eyes or his hands off of him. He said M&H were in a state of sheer delight. Pretty sweet. I think any of Harry's relatives who were worried about him are resting easy now.
ReplyDeleteI hope they had a very happy 1st Anniversary. The slide show brought back something I was told many years ago 'a true love story has no end' and I'm so looking forward to what the next year brings for the 3 of them. Charlotte, you do such a great job on both this and your Kate blog. A heartfelt thank you.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that Meghan might appear at Trooping but realized that they have no one to leave Archie with now that Doria is back in LA. It's not like they could just call a sitter. Unless they have gotten a nanny. This new home seems excellent for concealing secrets visits; I bet they are really enjoying it. And glad to see Harry on the polo field again.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they would ask Zara to watch Archie while they participate in the parade and then if Prince Louis goes out on the balcony, they could ask nanny Maria. Meghan could also just make an appearance on the balcony if they were to ask nanny Maria. We could also see Meghan peeking out the window like George and Charlotte a few years ago. So many possibilities but unfortunately, I think they’re all my wishful thinking.
DeleteI had hoped that Doria would stay longer, well, much longer so she could take care of Archie for us! I can't see M&H getting a nanny yet because they want to be alone with the little guy. What you suggest sounds like the best arrangement, but we have to be content with Harry for a few months.
DeleteOK, I have to follow Harry now. :) I think it's wonderful that he appears with his grandmother as often as possible/needed. Enjoyed seeing the garden party and I thought Eugenie and Beatrice looked just wonderful! Their dresses etc were beautiful and complimented each other and the Queen. And I really appreciate that Harry is supporting his grandmother at the lunch with the Trumps; she should not be alone and Harry has met Melania before. Not that she needs him but I like the support.
DeleteHi Charlotte - I was wondering if they might give us an „official“ photo of Archie soon? As I can remember we got photos from all the Cambridge children a few weeks after birth?
ReplyDeleteHello,
DeleteThe reporters haven't mentioned anything yet. Perhaps we'll see something to mark Father's Day?
Sounds reasonable :) when is it in uk?
DeleteIt's the 16th June. It's very hard to know though, we could see a photo this weekend or it could be the christening. There's been no official word either way. I mentioned before, we won't really know for some time how much or how little we'll see of Archie.
