As of writing this, it's August 4th, and I know you'll join me in wishing Meghan a very Happy Birthday!
Meghan enjoyed a celebratory dinner with Harry, her close friend Heather Dorak and her husband Matt along with other pals at Montecito Italian restaurant Tre Lune. The group were photographed leaving the dinner, smiling and chatting, before heading home. The popular eatery is celebrating 20 years in business. Adorned with photos of old Hollywood and serving classic Italian dishes and good wines, a visit promises a reminder of a stop in Italy.
'The Italian restaurant is a celebrity hotspot, attracting famous faces such as Kevin Costner, Kenny Loggins and Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker (who may have crossed paths with Meghan and Harry during the night out — the drummer posted a photo on his Instagram story from inside the restaurant on Wednesday).
"From what I gathered, they enjoyed their food and had a nice time," a source tells PEOPLE.'
Meghan and Heather have been close for well over a decade. Dorak is the founder of Pilates Platinum in LA which Meghan attended. Heather was one of the first people to visit Harry and Meghan in Canada back in 2019.
The Duchess chose a look epitomising California chic in the strapless Theo dress by Posse.
The $240 Striped dress has a tube silhouette made from block-striped stretch jersey. It's available for pre-order on the Posse website.
More on the background of the Australian brand:

Below, the matching Theo Cardigan Dress.
The Duchess carried her Cult Gaia Nia clutch.
Meghan wore the Emme Parson Cecilia Sandals.
Meghan accessorised with a pair of statement earrings and staple pieces - Diana's Cartier watch, Cartier Love bracelet and other stackable pieces.
I would love to wear that dress but I'd be sticking put all over. Nice choice for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Meghan peace and happiness.
ReplyDeleteYou are beautiful.
An unfortunate choice I think.Anyway happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteHBD Meghan! Love the dress and the ensemble she wore in the last post - much more affordable items lately! She looks great and happy. -op
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Meghan! Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteWow. I guess the dress fits in with a cool California lifestyle but it's ... different. :) I hope it's really flexible material because the length looks very restrictive toward the ankles. It's very brave but I'm glad she's pleasing herself with her clothes. I am also glad to see less-expensive items. And I had a similar purse (all white) when I was 13 (in the late '60s). I loved it.
ReplyDeleteSOOOO happy to see them out with some real friends. I bet she has a great birthday with her lovely family.
Happy birthday to Meghan🎂
ReplyDeleteI really like this dress well chosen for the event. Thank you Charlotte for sharing these latest news.
HBD! Unfortunately, all I can see is a beach towel when I look at this dress. I like the sandals though. People magazine is reporting she had dinner with Kourtney Kardashian, Kenny Loggins and Kevin Costner! What an amazing birthday dinner this must have been!
ReplyDeleteChayce, I think People is just reporting others who have gone to this restaurant.
Deleteoh you're probably right. Why would they feel the need to mention those people though?
DeleteGood point, Chayce. It's so subtle that I didn't pick upon it, but it's a way to equate Meghan with "Hollywood," I think.
DeleteChayce - my comment landed somewhere else although it started out in response or triggered by your comment. I am not even sure if Charlotte will post it; my comment ended up being more than fashion, and more into inner thoughts.
DeleteHappy Birthday Meghan.
ReplyDeleteNice to see her out relaxing with Harry and friends. Very west coast chic😬 Love the sandals and wish I can still wear a dress like that. Lol.
-hello from the pacific NW
Happy Birthday to Meghan,
ReplyDeletethat is a “Meghan” dress. Black and white, chic and simple - fun and embracing her beautiful body. I hope she is enjoying her summer. A wonderful weekend to all of you
Kristina
Happy birthday to my fave blogger and real life royal ever from this O.G. fan!
ReplyDeleteMeg looks so bomb like her fashion is top tier, she just never misses and the melanin is poppin' so much that she's glowing and doesn't look a day older than 32!
May you and your precious little family always stay blessed queen!
Amen 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Deletelove this comment.
DeleteAt first glance, I thought Meghan looked like she escaped from a Dr. Seuss book. After a second glance, Meghan looks just great- relaxed and tanned and enjoying herself, and looking very Californian. Looks like a very comfortable dress to wear to dinner, but I wouldn't dare as I'd be bulging all over after the first sip of wine. And a shout-out to Harry- looking very west-coast holiday cool in linen and white jeans- even tanned, if Harry is ever able to tan. Happy birthday, Meghan!
ReplyDeleteAnon 23:37 I continue to giggle at your suggestion of Meghan's Seuss-like outfit. I am a die-hard fan but can certainly enjoy a funny thought when she wears something like this. A friend and I were imagining ourselves in this dress and the images were not at all chic. :)
DeleteIt is interesting that different people see different interpretations of imagery.
ReplyDeleteThe beach towel is okay then (might have seen one in blue). if it was narrower lines, a zebra? Most people are aware Black and White comes and goes as fashionable contrast. Here, a good poet can write reflecting verses in gold and wax, or based on the life experience of the person who is wearing it.
Happy Birthday, Meghan!
I also hope you make it a day to think of the day you were born, find peace, and find a deeper sense of freedom that comes from forgiveness. The moon and stars come out at night, and the sun lights up during the day. The universe is what it is; wholesome equilibrium is the healthy way to go.
Wishing you all the best, and most of all to live your life without regret.

DeleteI am glad you feel positive about my comment. It came from the heart with all things considered. May God bless and protect you.
I love this look -- simple, dramatic, and chic simultaneously, which is no mean feat. The bold, wide stripes of the dress were perfectly complemented by the minimalist flat sandals, restrained jewelry, and chignon. I appreciate the matching long cardigan, too, which could render the look suitable as workwear, though only in certain industries and places. (Actually, you never know in southern California. When I lived there, I showed up for work in many outfits that I quickly reserved for other activities when I moved back to the east
ReplyDeletecoast.)
I don't care for the Cult Gaia bag, though. Adding a pop of color to a black-and-white ensemble is a great idea, but that bag didn't quite work. I do like Cult Gaia, I hasten to add: i bought a fantastic pair of chandelier earrings from the label last year and am planning to wear them to some formal events this fall. I can't wait.
I just had a really stressful medical procedure that didn't work, so I badly needed some frivolous cheer. This sufficed very nicely.
Vittoria, I'm terribly sorry to hear that and hope everything is okay.
DeleteCourage and good recovery Vittoria
DeleteVittoria, I'm so sorry and hope things get better.
DeleteOh dear. Vittoria , how disappointing and frustrating to go through all that. I hope you get better soon.
DeleteThinking of you Vittoria, I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through this. I saw my Oncologist/Breast Cancer specialist on Thursday, and unfortunately I need to have revision surgery on my right side. So, back to hospital for a few days. My husband and I are planning 8 days in beautiful Bali in October. I absolutely cannot wait for some sun, relaxation & wonderful food. It’s really cold in Australia at the moment. Take good care of yourself xx
DeleteOh Dee, I am so sorry to hear that.
DeleteI wish you and your husband a week of bliss and relaxation in Bali.
Dee so sorry to hear this. I lost my mom to breast cancer so I know what you are going through. I will pray for a successful surgery and relaxation and a wonderful trip in Bali for you and your hubby
DeleteI am so sorry to hear this Vittoria thinking of you.
DeleteDee, you so deserve a relaxing vacation!
DeleteHappy Birthday Meghan!! I hope that this year will be filled with blessings for you and yours!
ReplyDeleteI ordered this clutch last night after seeing Meghan rocking it again! I’ve long coveted it but I live in a very rural town so I’m not sure when I’ll use, maybe I’ll just use for everyday use 😃
She looks so relaxed, happy and healthy! I’m so happy that the Sussex’s are enjoying their life!!
Meghan wears her dress to casual perfection. It suits her and her style esthetic! Luv seeing pix of Meghan and Harry enjoying a date night.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to write: Happy Birthday Meghan!
DeleteRenee
Unfortunately, I don't like this dress at all, the stretch jersey fabric is not attractive to me. The sandals are a no. Regardless of my tastes the Duchess looks happy, a wonderful outing for her birthday.
ReplyDeleteagree not my fave outfit
DeleteHappy birthday to Meghan. Hope we here some exciting news of her upcoming projects! Thanka for continuing this blog Charlotte. It's much appreciated 😌.
ReplyDeleteHumaira
I apologise for all the typos. Juggling typing and managing a one year old at the same time. Also, it doesn't allow me to put my name using google account, says I need to look into blogger settings. Hopefully I can fix that soon at my end. Charlotte, thanks again for all your efforts! Humaira
DeleteHappy birthday 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 to this lovely flower
ReplyDeleteSurrounded by those that matters, happy birthday Meghan.
ReplyDeleteI read (and had not had the thought myself) that this dress is rather Barbie-esque, echoing Barbie's classic black-and-white bathing suit. :)
ReplyDeleteAllison, I hadn’t thought about the Barbie connection either. Good point! I never gave Barbie much thought. Then a friend asked me to go with her to see the movie. Of course, now I am a fan of the movie.
DeleteRenee
I’m not big fan of wide stripes on a dress, but she looks great in this. It suits her figure and has the balance of coastal dressy but casual to it.

DeleteThank you for these recent postings!! I am a fan of Meghan and Harry. I am glad to see them smiling. Happy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteMeghan is so fresh-faced and looks younger than her age. I wouldn’t wear this look myself but she rocks it. Very elegant and understatedly sexy.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Meghan. I was very saddened to see no one in the royal family wished her a happy bday via their social media accounts or any other medium
ReplyDeleteI love that Harry is on a road trip with Nacho and Meghan appears to have gone to the Swift concert with a friend. :)
ReplyDeleteAllison in US,
DeleteYes, I too love that Meghan went to Taylor’s concert in LA. Thanks for putting this out.
Renee
I hope Meghan had a lovely birthday.
ReplyDeleteThis is simply a fashion comment. I noticed recently that Meghan has worn styles and brands I like and I decided to make a few purchases.
A style of flats she wears has led me to a new brand and I found three pairs of shoes I really like and a scarf she wore recently led me to buying the same size in a budget version.
I admit, seeing how someone puts fashion items together is fashion inspiration for me. All the great photos and product information really helps. Thanks!
I caught some photos of Doria at an event to support and fundraise for This Is For Humanity (TIFH). It’s a non profit that works with immigration lawyers to reunify children with their families. Archwell has worked in the past with this non-profit so happy to see Doria showing up here. Meghan wasn’t there.
ReplyDeleteDoria looked glorious in an old J Crew dress, lol, and stood out unintentionally amidst all the couture, bejeweled LA A listers. I love the naturalness about Meghan’s mom. She is herself. That’s confidence!

Hi Charlotte, I hope you are well.
ReplyDeleteI hope you’ll cover ‘Heart of Invictus’ that’s currently showing on Netflix. It’s an amazing watch.
To readers, I suggest you don’t watch this in public if you are a crier. I had tears on the bus on my commute home which alarmed my seat mate. I work in healthcare and we see referred patients from the Veteran hospitals who are dealing with lingering traumas, both physical and mental. We also see some who have fallen through the system and ended up homeless and often estranged from their families. These vets are the hardest to reach. So watching this show is less like entertainment TBH for me. I know Invictus isn’t a cure for all the problems many vets and their families deal with. Many of the patients I have seen are in/out of the system. It can be depressing which is why it’s uplifting to have an event like Invictus brings some meaning and purpose for some of the vets out there.

- from the PNW, I most certainly will. Thank you for your review :)
