Meghan Soaks Up the Summer Trifecta of Beyoncé, Taylor Swift & Barbie!

I read an article the other day about the impact of the summer defining trilogy of Barbie, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé. The collective impact of the trio has seen records smashed and billions of dollars generated in the US economy, with a cumulative felt in the cinema industry (owing to the return of the double feature with Barbenheimer) and anywhere either tour debuts. Barbie became the highest grossing movie of the year (and the highest for a female director). Taylor Swift's The Eras tour is a financial juggernaut, and Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour has seen the artist take the record for the highest-grossing tour by a woman. It's been dubbed The Summer of Girl Power, one where memories are made. Meghan enjoyed all three 2023 milestones in recent weeks with friends and loved ones, and yes, we're beginning with a look at the Sussexes' appearance at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles last night.

The couple arriving.

Harry was very much joining a girls night out, and a celebration on the eve of Doria's 67th birthday, with close friends Abigail Spencer and Genevieve Roth.

Talented TikToker Matt (@thasklassy) was on hand to capture the very best footage of the night. Namely, Meghan showing off her very best dance moves as Beyoncé performed Diva.

CUFF IT challenge? Yes, please.

I can't think of a finer place to let your hair down.

Lovely footage of Harry and Meghan.

1+1 was playing at this point.

The Los Angeles Times reports:

'Four months after it launched in Europe and immediately took over social media, Beyoncé’s blockbuster Renaissance world tour begins a sold-out, three-night stand at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium on Friday. The pop superstar’s first solo outing since the Formation tour in 2016, Beyoncé’s latest live spectacle comes behind last year’s “Renaissance” album, her loving and meticulous ode to the Black and queer pioneers of half a century’s worth of dance music.

Reports from the road promise a high-tech, costume-heavy 2½-hour show in which the singer — after warming up with a series of R&B ballads — performs the songs from “Renaissance” in order with older tunes and covers interspersed among them.'

Speaking of birthdays, Beyoncé turns 42 on Monday and requested fans add a touch of silver to their sartorial looks to mark the occasion.

You'll notice a sea of the hue and sparkles decorating the stadium. Meghan, Doria, Abigail and Genevieve gladly obliged.

Meghan does adore her neutral wardrobe, so I think we can say a collective thank you to Queen Bey for prompting the Duchess to take this look out for the night. She teamed a simple white top with a gorgeous shimmering silver midi skirt. With thanks to Susan at What Meghan Wore), Meghan wore the SPRWN Tube Skirt.

A very similar style - the Oscar de la Renta High-Waisted Sequin Skirt. This one was made for dancing :)

Lovely more affordable alternatives include the Whistles Fitted Midi Skirt, the ASOS Design Embellished Skirt, & Other Stories Silver Skirt.

Meghan sported her Aquazzura Celeste Sandals. They are described: "Delicate twisted straps in a sparkling glitter finish highlights these sleek stiletto sandals."

Meghan was also in SoFi Stadium earlier last month with close friend Lucy Meadmore for a night of reminiscing while listening to Taylor Swift's greatest hits.

People reports:

"A source confirms to PEOPLE that the Duchess of Sussex, 42, attended Taylor Swift's performance at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium on Tuesday during the Eras Tour's California leg.

As Swift launched into her Fearless era — telling the excited crowd, 'Let's go back to high school!' — Meghan jumped up out of her chair to sing along to 'You Belong with Me'."

And just before that, Meghan and friends had a wonderful evening seeing Barbie with Portia de Rossi and other friends. The group enjoyed the Margot Robbie movie at a Santa Barbara theatre and were spotted having a lovely time.

It would be remiss me of me to mention summer sensations and leave out the streaming sensation that is Suits. Since its debut on Netflix, it has quite literally exploded beyond anyone's wildest expectations. In mid-August the Aaron Korsh created show set a new Nielsen viewing record for an acquired title, reaching almost 18 billion minutes viewed in a month across Netflix and Peacock. It's continuing to do unbelievable business. Fall in love with Harvey, Mike, Rachel, Donna, Louis, Jessica, Dana and Katrina all over again on Netflix.

On those very fun notes, Harry and Meghan fans have a very busy time ahead. The Prince will be in London on Thursday for the annual WellChild awards. This is an unforgettable evening; one which always brings to mind the courage and resilience of children and families at the most difficult times.

From there, Harry's off to Germany for the Invictus Games 2023 in Düsseldorf. From the 9-16 September, a week of inspirational sport will see friendships made, obstacles overcome and goals conquered. Meghan is due to join Harry shortly afterwards (I've seen varying dates generally alluding to the Duchess arriving in the country around the 11th).

To get you ready for the week, do not miss Heart of Invictus streaming on Netflix. I'm hoping to have the time to watch it myself over the next couple of days. From everything I've heard, the stories will move you to tears. Invictus is Harry at his very best, and we'll have the opportunity to see that in action once again in just a week.

Have you seen Heart of Invictus? If so, please do share in the comments.

I'll leave you with this :)

  1. How does she dance in those heels ? Beyoncé concerts have cheaper tickets, less than $300 USD so that’s good on her. Taylor Swift tickets are an obnoxious $500 -1,200 USD. I’m glad Harry and Meghan went out with Doria and had a good time.

  2. Well, this post made me happy, happy, happy!! The video by Katerina that ended the post is SO cute. I love seeing our girl out with her mom and her "old" true friends and her amazing husband! Love to see Harry so happy, too. He truly has a real life, no more loneliness.

I haven't seen Barbie yet but a friend went to it with his 17-year-old daughter and they both thought it was very good.

I'm going to relax and reread and rewatch the post. Thank you!

  3. Need to add -- I started watching Suits this last year for the first time and it is a good, clever show (with or without Meghan). I'm so glad it's being re)discovered.

  9. My favorite couple continued their fun weekend. Harry looked so giddy at the soccer game watching Messi, and Meghan went again to see Beyonce on her birthday show and was seen with old acquaintances/friends Kerry Washington and Kelly Rowland. Wonder if we'll see them bring their children 10 years from now??

Welcome to Mad About Meghan! We do so look forward to reading your thoughts. Constructive, fair debate is always encouraged. Hateful, derogatory terms and insults are not welcome here. This space focuses on Harry and Meghan, not any other member of the Royal family. It's not the place to discuss politics either. Thank you for reading, we look forward to your comments :)
