During the first day of their tour in Sydney last year, Harry and Meghan were gifted a pair of Ugg booties, to which Meghan exclaimed "Our first baby gift". It looks like they are making good use of them as Archie appeared to be wearing them in the photo.
The image was accompanied by a video featuring highlights from the year against the backdrop of Coldplay's track Clocks. The couple wrote: “Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and thanking you for your continued support! We’ve loved meeting so many of you from around the world and can’t wait to meet many more of you next year. We hope 2020 brings each of you health and continued happiness.” - The Duke and Duchess of Sussex"
As the trio prepare to celebrate the New Year and return to the UK, I hope 2020 proves to be a wonderful year for them. Thank you all for following Mad About Meghan in 2019. Wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year :)

ReplyDeleteI always wondered what would happen to the gifts which were given to them during the tour. As I recall, this is the first time, blings are exceptions, when they resurface. Nice touch from them. Archie is super cute, so do his outfit. Happy New Year Everyone!

Here's hoping 2020 will bring them all the insulation they need and the strength to do good in their roles without worrying too much about negative people. Kudos to the photographer as well-it's a stunning composition, and if Meghan is behind the camera, she has captured a wonderful moment between her "two best guys in the world!" It's lovely of the Sussexes to share two recent photos of their little bean, who is definitely sprouting very well indeed! Wish them, and all of us joy, comfort, and success in the new year!

The video of their year is great. The lyrics of the song are interesting -- probably referring to the difficulties of navigating their place in the world and the not-always-positive reaction to it. They seem determined to press forward. I hope they can shield themselves more from the turmoil, and have a much better year ahead. Happy New Year to all in this community.

Archie is already representing the Commonwealth at at almost eight months: Baby Uggs from Australia, hat from New Zealand, jacket from Britain, scenery from Canada! I can't believe I'm rhapsodizing about a baby's outfit! That little bean is definitely an asset to the royal family, whether his parents intend him to be or not. That was a great compilation and you can never go wrong with music by U2 for that (there is a reason this song is used all the time for this kind of slideshows). The photo of Harry and Archie is really really beautiful. I very much prefer this style to the black/white wanna be artsy style they choose sometimes.

ReplyDeleteI’m so impressed by the story behind little Archie’s beanie. I just read the article on Stuff.co.nz. Make Give Live is tackling mental illness and isolation by using knitting/crocheting groups and helping people in need keep warm over winter. How awesome is that!

DeleteWhat’s with the obsession about her getting pregnant? Just because it’s a comment on a blog and not an pregnancy wish/speculation in a tabloid makes it not ok.
@Charlotte: I wish you would think about modifying your comment rules. So many women all over the world have expressed how damaging and hurtful this kind of talk can be. True Meghan won’t read it, but we should try to change the mindset around it.
In general I feel like often comments seem to give into fanfic around here. I am here because I like the Monarchy and some members of the BRF including Harry and Meghan. But reading some comments makes me wonder if this is the right place for me as I definitely don’t support everything they do blindly and disagree with some of their decisions. Right now Charlotte’s impeccable work greatly outweighs it still, but I get more and more turned off of reading here.

Ok this is weird. Archie is not even a year old, and people are planning for twins? Some people get pregnant easily and have easy uneventful pregnancies and easy labors and motherhood just comes naturally to them. Some do not. We have no idea what bucket Meghan falls into. Sophie had very difficult pregnancies. In fact she almost died ... twice. Anyway we can assume that if Meghan and Harry decide to expand their family they will. Meanwhile I'm just happy at the mini-Meghan aka Archie pictures. He's awfully cute.

Maybe they feel their family is complete with the one precious child they have! I wish everybody would stop automatically thinking every family needs at least two children. Every month that goes by is going to cause more and more frenzy about a second pregnancy. i tend to agree with Anonymous 7:43 that it is intrusive and nobody’s business.

Although I think anon 07:43 was a tiny bit too harsh in her comment, I agree that we shouldn't think of royal women as of child producers. It is not their sole pusrpose, plus it is a very sensitive topic we know very little about, unless they talk about it (as Harry did and said two kids are their maximum).

Oy vey. The twins schtick is cliche, trash-tabloid clickbait. You can't go through the supermarket check out without multiple magazines screaming "Twins!" for any and every celebrity or royal. (I'm still making that distinction.) Thank you Ivy Lin and RachelZA for your comments. It's sometimes hard to remember that the decision whether or not to have children is a completely private matter for a couple. Even their parents would do well not to ask (though they almost always do anyways). The fact that the couple is world renowned does not change that fact. Let's back off, people.

Meghan takes a picture for a BC couple out hiking- lovely story. They're nearing the end of their holiday, which I think they've enjoyed in privacy, so it's nice to have these stories coming out now. We don't feel that their holiday has been intruded upon, and I'm happy to see that they seem to have found a great place to relax and to enjoy their time on Vancouver Island in the north Sannich area.
