Meghan Makes a Return Visit to Justice for Girls in Vancouver

When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the UK four years ago, they found solace in Canada. Meghan's home for seven years while she starred on Suits and a place filled with happy memories for the couple especially during the first months of their relationship. As they made plans for the future in early 2020, Meghan paid a visit to a very special organisation called Justice for Girls. Below, Meghan pictured during that first visit.

Returning to Vancouver yesterday ahead of the 2025 Invictus Games, Meghan stopped by to check on the team and hear about the latest updates on their work.

Justice for Girls was founded in 1999 "in response to local, national, and international calls for 'girl only' programs and services that acknowledge and address the specific needs and vulnerabilities of girls, particularly in relation to homelessness, poverty, and violence. They believe it is necessary to eliminate violence and poverty in young women’s lives in order to bring about equality. Recognizing and addressing the intersecting/interlocking forms of oppression that young women face is fundamental to our work toward ending violence against girls and young women".

On social media the organisation shared: "Justice for Girls was delighted to have a return visit from Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex. Joined by Jessica Lake & Lauri Thompson from the Lake family’s All One Fund, we had an engaging & heartfelt conversation about justice & equality for girls in Canada & around the world". A spokesperson added: "A highlight of our conversation was the focus on girls’ and young women’s leadership. A feminist advocate from a young age herself, The Duchess was keen to chat with two of our teen interns to discuss their personal struggles for justice".

Justice for Girls said: "Her genuine and understanding approach left the girls feeling heard, supported, and inspired".

The Duchess was in a white sweater and wide leg trousers. She accessorised with Diana's Cartier Tank watch and Cartier Love bracelet.

And her new Lorraine Schwartz Against Evil Eye Diamond Pave bracelet (with thanks to What Meghan Wore).

  1. As a huge Meghan (and Harry) devotee, I love when Meghan's friends or people she has visited say such nice things about her afterward. And I'm fascinated by that "simple" little new bracelet! Little Lili will have an amazing time raided her mom's jewelry box in a few years. That is beautiful.

  6. I love the way she stays in touch with so many people and organisations. And she looks amazing. Trousers look better here than they did at Wimbledon. I suspect that beautiful bracelet was a gift, and am I right in spotting her engagement ring back on? There have been so many horrid comments about her not wearing it recently, so glad she wears it again. LRB

  7. Meghan looks great. I don't think many women could wear this and look like Meghan does at this event.

  11. Are we going to have a discussion about the latest claims? Might be better here

  12. I wish M&H would give us something to comment on. I am SOOOOO tired of all the ugliness. I was disappointed of course in their Christmas card, but I think it's a good thing. Their children are not "public" people, and having a word card is appropriate.

  15. I read that Prince Harry is to be honored as a Living Legend of Aviation. I was rather surprised, even though Harry is just one of my favorite people. UK rags are of course now dumping on him as not worthy of mention, but the groups says "The "Living Legends of Aviation" are remarkable people of extraordinary accomplishment in aviation including: entrepreneurs, innovators, industry leaders, astronauts, record breakers, pilots who have become celebrities and celebrities who have become pilots. The Legends meet yearly to recognize and honor individuals that have made significant contributions in aviation." Previous award winners include well-known people like Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman. In addition to being a celebrity who flies, Harry is the creator of the Invictus Games. I think that is the difference between him and many other well-known pilots, especially given that he is part of the RF. John Travolta is the presenter, and I just love him!! So many great movies -- "Michael" is one of my favorites. I hope, hope, hope Meghan is there on Jan 19th. :)

  16. Charlotte, I will continue to hope that all your minor heath issues disappear -- soon!

Can you tell that I miss H&M? People need to remember that they cannot fade into the background because they have no guaranteed income source. I hope their new PR firm does a good job with them.

  18. The Meghan fans are having fun with the new chicken, Sinkie (or Lady Sinkington), It's lovely to have a news story that is hard to twist into something bad. I thank Ellen for mentioning it.

  19. I'm just going to put this out there as an example of the continued ridiculousness of "Palace" gossip. Now we're told the Queen was furious over Lilibet's name. My thought is so what if it's true? Does everyone run their life with the permission of their family members? No disagreements? We do what our boss tells us or find another job. She was not their boss then. There have been many "Elizabeths" -- but no Lilibet. Plus she seems to be called Lili. I think Harry deserved to take a bit of the Queen with him. If she was angry, she did not take it to the public, so she obviously didn't want "us" to know. Ah, I feel better now! :)

  20. Charlotte, how are you doing? Do you think you can have a post about M&H in Jamaica? I'd be happy to read about them here on the blog.

I miss Meghan. I really appreciated her investment when she was in the Royal Family and I hoped she could continue it in some way when she was gone.
I could have seen her imagine a new capsule collection like for Smart Works (the idea was wonderful !) or openly supporting an animal shelter like Mayhew.
Maybe is she focused on her family and her very young children, which I completely understand.
She has such an impact that her absence in patronages or things similar to it is noticeable. She has so much to bring !

  23. Oh Charlotte, I'm worried about you! I thought you were all well but perhaps not. You're our only link to goodness and decency in social media!!! Hope you are taking care of yourself.

Welcome to Mad About Meghan! We do so look forward to reading your thoughts. Constructive, fair debate is always encouraged. Hateful, derogatory terms and insults are not welcome here. This space focuses on Harry and Meghan, not any other member of the Royal family. It's not the place to discuss politics either. Thank you for reading, we look forward to your comments :)
